Electric lift truck: Yale Material Handling Corp. says its
upgraded ERC080-120VH series electric rider lift trucks are
just as durable and powerful as internal combustion engine
(ICE) models. At the same time, they can save money by
eliminating fuel costs and dramatically reducing emissions.
Yale says that all of its new ERC080-120VH trucks,
which have a capacity of 8,000 to 12,000 pounds,
have undergone rigorous durability and performance testing.
The new truck series features enhanced technologies, such as a stronger and more durable powertrain, a
drive axle with increased shock absorption for heavy loads, and a mast that is
reinforced with ductile iron-casted cross members, which resist mast rocking and lateral
movement.
According to Yale, the ERC080-120HV series’ wet disc brakes provide excellent stopping
power with low brake pedal effort. These brakes are designed to lower the cost of operation
by requiring no adjustments or servicing other than a periodic lubrication change at 4,000-
hour intervals. The series also includes a power-assisted braking system, which further
increases brake and drive train life by automatically utilizing traction motor braking in proportion to operator brake pedal pressure.
Yale has also maximized uptime and increased the trucks’ throughput by using AC traction

Voice solution: Vocollect’s new Talkman A700 solution integrates
voice and bar-code scanning into one wearable solution. The
solution will be available in early fall.
By combining voice and bar-code scanning, Talkman
A7000 reduces the need to use multiple devices for tasks
that benefit from having both voice and scanning. As a
result, it also reduces the costs associated with managing
and charging multiple devices while increasing worker productivity, says Vocollect.
The solution facilitates hands-free scanning for process steps such as inducting totes at the
beginning of assignments, batch-picking, and product tracing, while retaining the ergonomic and performance benefits of a compact mobile device.
When used in combination with Vocollect’s VoiceCatalyst software and wireless SRX2
headset, the A700 solution also features Vocollect SoundSense, which reduces recognition
errors by blocking out unwanted environmental sounds such as honking fork lifts, conveyors,
and freezer fans. It also comes with Vocollect TouchConnect, which allows workers to
“touch-pair” their Vocollect SRX2 wireless headset to the A700 solution, reducing startup
times. Additionally, Vocollect RapidStart provides workers with consistent, self-guided education on the device and process.
