DREAM TEAMS
lead the way
BY JOHN NOFSINGER, CEO, MATERIAL HANDLING INDUSTRY OF AMERICA (MHIA)
the words DREAM TEAM paint a picture of outstanding talent, collaboration, purpose, and success. We cer- tainly have seen the impact that a group of people
with these qualities can have in the field of sports. But
that’s not the only field where “dream teams” make a difference. I would like to take this moment to mention
three “dream teams” from the logistics
and supply chain sectors with which
you should be familiar (if you are not
already).
practitioners and solution providers.
The MODEX vision is that leading associations, societies, universities, and governmental organizations will
come together to deliver their signature solutions over
the course of one compact, efficient, and effective week.
That vision will become reality at MODEX 2012, Feb. 6–9,
MODEX has been the beneficiary of
the many lessons learned by the supply

Following Hurricane Katrina, ALAN was
formed as a unique and collaborative
public/private partnership to respond
to national disasters. ALAN’s 20 association sponsors represent supply chain

providers and practitioners providing
solutions that are essential to successful
disaster response.
The ALAN model has clearly proved
the value of diverse, talented, and dedicated teams working toward a common goal. The sponsoring organizations have indeed made ALAN a disaster
relief DREAM TEAM.

Dec. 31, 2011, MHIA is assembling its DREAM TEAM of the
future under the capable leadership of George W. Prest,
who assumes the role of CEO (a.k.a. mentor and coach).
All three of these DREAM TEAMS have been designed
for success, and they stand to raise the bar to new
heights. This is what DREAM TEAMS do.
