Supply chain and logistics software:
Cloud-based software company Airclic has
added new capabilities to its Perform supply
chain and logistics management software.
The latest enhancements include cross-docking automation, improved alerting functionality, and route optimization. The software also
integrates receipt archiving, helping to improve
order accuracy and communication with customers throughout the delivery process.
The new release responds to a common problem that comes with cross-docking: the lack of a
time cushion to confirm order accuracy between
the unloading and reloading of items. Perform
enables companies to scan, log, and update
order information via mobile devices.
Perform users can now also receive up-to-the-minute estimated time of arrival (ETA)
notifications, enabling proactive communication with customers on changes in delivery
schedules. Airclic Perform leverages GPS and
real-time traffic data to keep the ETA current
throughout the day. To ensure the greatest
accuracy, it takes into account the driver’s current location, travel time to each stop on the
route based on stop sequence, service time,
planned duration at each stop, and both real-time and historical traffic data.
Airclic has also announced the availability
of Perform for Route Optimization and
Planning, which helps customers improve the
efficiency and cost-effectiveness of routing
and scheduling activities. The solution plans
and manages complex vehicle logistics across
multiple truck types, geographic areas, load
types (in-day, single day, or multiday routes),
and specialist logistics processes. (Airclic,

GTIN generator: New enhancements to the
GS1 US online tool, Data Driver, will help businesses prepare individual products for sale by
quickly assigning unique product identification numbers that can be embedded in UPC
bar codes. The GS1 product identifiers,
known as global trade item numbers (GTINs),
uniquely identify trade items that are sold,
delivered, and invoiced at any point in the
global supply chain.
With Data Driver, users can easily create
GTINs, generate UPC bar codes in high resolution and in PDF format, and manage their
GTINs over the course of the product lifecycle.
Data Driver also enables users to store,
manage, and edit product data and to create
a product’s sales and summary sheets.
Data Driver is available to GS1 US Partner
Connections members along with numerous
education and training resources. (GS1 US,

Trailer lamp: Phillips Industries has increased the brightness of its Permalite XB interior trailer dome lamp by 30 percent.
The new Permalite XB is brighter than many other interior LED trailer lamps on
the market with an output of 1,600 lumens. The improved illumination provides a
175-degree light spread, ensuring that the entire trailer interior is well lit with contents clearly visible. Increased visibility, in turn, increases efficiency in loading and
unloading operations.
The dome lamp is encased in an impact-resistant polycarbonate housing to prevent damage. (Phillips Industries, www.phillipsind.com)
