AkzoNobel has introduced Enviroline
405HTR, a single-coat glass fiber reinforced lining system into its
International coatings range. Enviroline
405HTR is designed to reduce product
range complexity while meeting the
ever-changing environmental, performance, and application demands of the
North America protective coatings market, the company said.
The high solids, ultra-low volatile
organic compound (VOC) Enviroline
405HTR lining system is formulated to
provide a more sustainable and health,
safety and environmentally conscious option, without compromising high-level
protection. Enviroline 405HTR protects
within a broad range of environments
and temperatures – from continuous
immersion in a wide range of chemicals
including crude oil and hydrocarbon water mixtures of up to 250°F (120°C) – to
applications with temperatures as low as
50°F ( 10°C).
“Enviroline 405HTR is a lining sys-
tem that has come of age,” said Karl
Nollsch, AkzoNobel’s North American
Linings Market Champion. “With just
one product, facility owners can not
only achieve environmental compliance
and measurable cost-savings, but unpar-
alleled protection for diverse applica-
tions including petroleum storage tanks,
pipe exteriors, biofuel storage tanks, and
vessels used for natural gas extraction.
There’s no other lining system that can
offer this kind of flexibility.”
The glass fiber and flake reinforced
material has greater wetting properties
and improved leveling, and an increased
pot life for ‘hot potting.’ With super-fast
cure times, Enviroline 405HTR consis-
tently allows storage vessels to be put
back into service in as little as 14 hours
after coating. The single coat, high build
application (20-60 mils) also helps owners
save on labor costs, which together helps
minimize disruption to production, while
reducing the overall cost of installation.
TCI Powder Coatings
Launches TruAnodize
Powder Coating
TCI Powder Coatings, a powder coating
manufacturer and a subsidiary of RPM
International company, has launched a
newly developed powder coating product offering, the TruAnodize line, meeting AAMA 2604 specifications. As part
of the TruDurance architectural coatings
product line, these powder coatings are
designed specifically for architectural applications where the anodized look is
desired. The TruAnodize coatings are a
smooth, low gloss powder coating applied
in one coat with no clear coat required.
The six anodized appearances developed to match the most popular anodized
colors are Light Bronze LR, Dark Bronze
LR, Dark Bronze DR, Champagne LR,
Black, and Bonded Clear. Ideal applications for these coatings include windows,
doorframes, lighting, benches, wall panels, and rails. These coatings will eliminate the variation problems commonly
associated with anodized metals while
still meeting AAMA 2604 specifications
in a one-coat powder coating.
Polychem Powder Coatings
Offers Crescent Collection
Polychem Powder Coatings has relaunched its Crescent Collection. The
Crescent Collection now features 16 very
dark shades, including two new products
- Marsala Black and Textured Marsala
Black. Marsala Black is a deep black hue
with a hint of rich red, and the Textured
Marsala Black also adds a tactile element
with a light textured finish.
Created using Polychem’s polyester
technology, the original, popular Crescent
Collection colors are also still part of the
series. These include sultry blacks, warm
browns, velvety purples and deep greens as
well as a range of effects from flat mattes
to high gloss and textures. The Crescent
Collection is available in flexible quantities
as low as five pounds.
Prime Resins Unveils
Inorganic Mineral Coating
Prime Resins Inc. has introduced a new
class of inorganic water- and mineral-based coatings that provide corrosion
and fire resistance protection on multiple surfaces.
Prime Coat 6000 Lining, Prime
Coat 6100 Fire and Prime Coat 6200
Corrosion are spray-applied sustainable
inorganic coatings with broad applications. Each offers zero VOCs. All three
are designed to have a rapid set time and
cure tack-free within five minutes.
Prime Coat 6000 Lining is proven to
meet NSF/ANSI 61 standards for contact
with potable water and is highly abra-sion- and chemical-resistant, making it an
option for municipal water and sewer applications, water tank linings and the like.
Prime Coat 6100 Fire provides superior fire resistance protection when applied to a variety of surfaces. ASTM E84
testing proved zero flame spread, zero gas
generation and zero smoke generation.
Prime Coat 6200 Corrosion provides
durable protection against corrosion and
oxidation of concrete and steel surfaces.
Only a thin layer, less than 20 mils, provides corrosion protection. The product
develops a strong bond with properly
prepared surfaces, producing an alloyed
layer that remains bonded to the surface
even if the visible layer is penetrated.
This product is ideal for marine applications such as seawalls, bridges, rebar,
railcars, pipelines, tanks and other surfaces exposed to moisture and/or abrasive
substances. The life of concrete that is
starting to erode and shed aggregate can
be extended with a thin application.
A new pump has been developed for
these products. The Prime PC features
twin progressive cavity pumps to meter
and disperse the material with almost
no shearing. Fewer passes are needed
to build thickness since the material
does not require over-diluting to prevent shearing. CW
