Even better: Yale Materials Handling Corp. has improved its
Veracitor VX truck series with a choice of engine options
designed to deliver maximum performance with low fuel
consumption, minimal noise, and reduced maintenance
and operating costs. The lift trucks, which also offer a maintenance-free stability system, have lifting capacities ranging
from 3,000 to 19,000 pounds. The vehicles come
in both cushion and pneumatic tire classes.
The rugged powertrain offers durability with computer-controlled engine and transmission, robust clutch packs, and stronger
gears and shafts. Multiple powertrain configuration options provide
improved efficiency while enhancing reliability and serviceability. All
transmissions feature smooth electronic inching that saves money in
maintenance costs by eliminating periodic adjustments.
Techtronix transmissions reduce tire costs through the
Controlled Power reversal feature, which minimizes tire spin during directional changes. The Auto Deceleration System, which
comes standard with Techtronix transmissions, extends brake life
by automatically slowing the truck when the accelerator pedal is
released. This helps to minimize brake usage requirements and
reduce overall brake maintenance costs.
The Yale Continuous Stability Enhancement reduces truck lean in
turns and improves lateral stability. Even with a reduced lean, the
innovative steer axle mounting design allows for superior travel over
uneven surfaces. (Yale Materials Handling Corp., www.yale.com)
Light and easy: Vocollect has unveiled a light-duty wearable
voice solution for distribution centers and warehouse operations
seeking to improve productivity and accuracy in selection, cycle
counting, and other activities. This new system provides strong
performance, with exceptional ergonomics and speech recognition accuracy along with an attractive return on investment, the
company says.
The Vocollect light-duty voice solution is based on the new
Talkman T1 and SL- 4 headset, used in conjunction with the
Vocollect TaskBuilder software platform. By leveraging this software
platform, customers gain critical process improvements that deliver double-digit gains in productivity and performance across multiple distribution workflows. The TaskBuilder platform is integrated
with many leading warehouse management systems, enabling
customers to benefit from a large installed base of voice application software, reducing implementation costs and time.
The T1 is a voice-only solution that is more than 80 percent
smaller than leading handhelds and half the size of other competitive wearable devices for distribution activities. As a simple illustration of its compact size, the T1 is roughly twice the size of a
BlackBerry, making it easy to use and wear.
Ergonomics are further optimized through the lightweight
behind-the-head companion headset, the SL- 4. (Vocollect,
