Label printer/applicator: Tharo Systems’
PA1200fa printer/applicator is designed specifically for specialty applications requiring the
front of a product to be labeled.
This printer/applicator can print and apply
labels to the leading edge of a product moving
down a conveyor where the orientation of the
product cannot be changed due to product line
constraints. The PA1200fa is currently available
using the Tharo H-Series direct-thermal or ther-mal-transfer printers with print resolutions of
203 or 300 dpi.
After a label is printed, it is stripped from the
liner and held by suction on the applicator
tamp pad. The tamp pad is mounted on a
heavy-duty swing arm that extends over a conveyor and tamps the label to the product.
Labels can be as small as 3 inches by 1 inch and
up to 4. 5 inches by 8 inches. (Tharo Systems

Fuel-consumption tracking: Zonar, a developer of electronic fleet inspection, tracking,
and operations systems, has added fuel as a
fifth dimension to its HD-GPS reporting.
Utilized by private and public fleets, Zonar’s
vehicle telematics platforms have always provided GPS reporting for four dimensions: latitude, longitude, time, and odometer. With the addition of fuel as the fifth dimension,
Zonar’s telematics platforms will be able to determine a vehicle’s fuel consumption.
Fleets will now be able to identify, with tremendous detail, the routes and lanes
over which their vehicles are most and least fuel-efficient.
In addition to the five-dimensional data sampling, Zonar’s telematics platforms
transmit engine fault codes and verified electronic vehicle inspection data in real time.
Maintenance personnel can use this information to identify when a vehicle needs to
be serviced. It also helps them remotely diagnose vehicles if they break down.
The platform captures and transmits driver performance metrics, including, but
not limited to, accelerating too quickly, hard braking, excessive idling, anti-lock
brake system (ABS) activation, and roll stability control (RSC) activation. (Zonar,

Fleet management solutions: Pedigree
Technologies has released tablet-based solutions for fleet management (FleetPOV) and field
service automation (JobsPOV).
The two applications are part of Pedigree
Technologies’ OneView service, which provides
remote monitoring and diagnostics for vehicles,
trucks, trailers, and fixed and mobile equipment. Vehicles and high-value equipment send
critical information such as location, condition,
runtime, stops and trips, diagnostics, and tank
inventory to OneView. With Pedigree’s
OneView POV solution, mobile workers can
access this machine-to-machine data via a
tablet or smartphone.
OneView FleetPOV gives mobile workers a
single device for managing electronic driver
logs and hours of service (HOS) to meet Federal
Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
requirements.
OneView JobsPOV lets field service workers
prioritize projects, jobs, and resources based on
real-time operational data. JobsPOV improves
dispatch and routing efficiencies, facilitates
coordination of time and resources, and shortens the delivery-to-invoice timeline. (Pedigree
