Sensor analytics solution: Savi Insight now offers a cloud-based sensor analytics solution for the Internet of Things (IoT). This solution gives executives, line managers, and business analysts immediate access to sophisticated analytics that transform sensor- and other machine-generated data into real-time operational intelligence. Savi Insight combines predictive modeling and visualizations, helping to accelerate decision making, identify and help mitigate unforeseen risks, and improve operational performance and profitability.

Indoor/outdoor lift truck: UniCarriers Americas Corp.’s Platinum II Nomad series lift truck is a compact vehicle that can be used both indoors and outdoors.

While built on a smaller frame to provide tight handling and maneuverability inside the warehouse, the Nomad series lift truck also has solid pneumatic tires, which allow an indoor truck to travel outside on paved surfaces. The vehicles are available in 3,000-, 3,500-, and 5,000-pound capacity models.

Trucks in UniCarriers’ exclusive Nissan Forklift brand Nomad series are powered by the company’s K21 industrial engine. This low-emission 2.1-liter engine runs on liquid petroleum gas. (A gas/LP dual-fuel system is available as an option.)

According to UniCarriers Americas, the Nomad series trucks can travel between loading dock and yard easily. This versatility makes them well suited for rental equipment operations, unique or limited-space applications, retail centers with seasonal sales, nurseries or garden centers, home improvement stores, and any other operation needing flexibility in material handling operations, according to the company.

MGV/AGV: Handling Specialty Manufacturing Ltd. has introduced what it calls an MGV/AGV—a manually guided vehicle that can be transformed into an automated guided vehicle.

The MGV is a heavy-duty self-propelled cart with a hydraulically powered scissor lift mounted in the center of the frame. The vehicle, which can lift, hold, turn (with added tooling), and transport goods, is fully customizable with regard to lift capacity and deck size.

The MGV features a modular design, which allows it to be retrofitted with a control package and turned into an AGV. (Handling Specialty, www.handling.com)
