Frequency inverter device: Lenze hasreleased the i550 protec, a decentralizedfrequency inverter that’s engineered for harshenvironments, including those with airbornecontaminants and food-processing applications with frequent washdowns. The unitis protected with an IP66/NEMA 4X-ratedenclosure and is designed for use with motorspowering conveyor belts, fans, pumps, maindrives, and lifting units. The device’s housingallows it to be mounted outside the protection of a sealed control cabinet.
Offered with a power range of up to 100
horsepower (75 kilowatts), the inverter supports all low voltages, from 120 to 600 volts.
The device can be outfitted with a keypad ora wireless control with a range of 300 feet, making it ideal for installations with limitedspace or accessibility, the company says.
In addition, the i550 protec supportsIO-Link communication for easy integrationof sensors and actuators distributed in anapplication into the master control level. Thissupports the exchange of process, asset, orparameterization data. The unit can alternately be connected to a variety of commonfieldbus interfaces. (Lenze, www.lenze.com/en-us/)
Forklift attachments: Cascade Corp. hasintroduced several new forklift attachments, including an advanced electric sideshifterdesigned for energy-efficient operation.
Because there are no hydraulic hoses requiredover the mast, the device is ideal for use inclean applications such as food and pharmaenvironments, as the absence of hydraulicsreduces the risk of oil leaks where a cleanenvironment is mandated, the manufacturersays.
Cascade has also unveiled new sensorforks. With a sensor package and wirelesscamera embedded in the fork tip, these forksoffer lift-truck operators the visibility and precision for maximum efficiency when handlingloads. Advanced features include a distancesensor, a vertical object-detection sensor, and“fork position targeting” that allows operators to see exactly where the fork meets theload for reduced product and pallet damage.
In addition to the sideshifter and sensorforks, the company has released the newJ-series revolving fork clamp, made with steeland designed for durability in the toughestconditions; weigh forks with wireless displayusing Bluetooth technology to help users viewand track the weight of individual loads andtotal weight of multiple loads; hydraulic andmanual reach forks; and roller forks.
