2017 is no exception. Every day at 5 p.m. ( 3 p.m. on Thursday), ProMat will close its doors for the evening. What to do then? Here’s an arbitrary selection of special events taking place in and around the ProMat show’s venue in early April:

b In September 2016, The PrivateBank Theatre welcomed the renowned Broadway musical “Hamilton.” While tickets are available through Ticketmaster and other resellers for the 7: 30 p.m. shows on April 4–6, the production conducts a day-of-show lottery for every performance. Enter the lottery at www. BroadwayInChicago.com/HamiltonLottery for a chance to win tickets for $10 each.

b The Chicago White Sox will host their home opener against the Detroit Tigers on Monday, April 3. These two teams will also play Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6.

b Chicago’s improvisational theater troupe will present an evening of unscripted comedy in “The Second City’s Improv All-Stars” at the UP Comedy Club at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 3.

b The “Chicago Landmarks Before the Lens” exhibit at the Chicago Cultural Center features 72 black-and-white photographs of 24 landmarks and historic districts. The museum is open until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, April 3–6.

b The Art Institute of Chicago will host several exhibitions in the spring, including the return of the iconic portrait “The Artist’s Mother” by James McNeill Whistler. The museum is open daily from 10: 30 to 5, with extended hours on Thursdays until 8 p.m.

b Millennium Park has unveiled seven sculptures by American artist Chakaia Booker in a new exhibition in the Boeing Galleries. Ranging in height from 96 to 192 inches and weighing up to a ton, the exhibited works were created using rubber tires and stainless steel.

b Experience a multisensory show that fuses theatrical spectacle and original music with comedy, art, vaudeville, and science with the Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre. Shows begin at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6.

b 360 Chicago, formerly known as the John Hancock Observatory, offers visitors a new experience: “Tilt!,” a moving platform that provides a unique view of the Magnificent Mile and Chicago’s famous skyline. 360 Chicago is open every day until 11 p.m.
