Taminco names Ellen Van De Woestijne
global market manager
Taminco Inc. has selected Ellen Van De
Woestijne to lead
global marketing efforts for its feed and
specialty additive
products. As global
market manager, she
heads a team of coun-try- and region-based
sales and marketing
professionals dedicated to helping Taminco customers
maintain their competitive advantage in
markets around the world. Van De Woestijne joined Taminco in March 2010 after
five years with Johnson & Johnson, where
she served as a product manager specializing in new business development and
emerging markets. She received her master’s
degree in Chinese and economics from
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, and her
MBA from the China Europe International
Business School.

Chung joins Emerald Kalama
Chemicals as product line
manager
Emerald Kalama Chemical, a business unit
of Emerald Performance Materials, has appointed Sharon Chung as K-Flex product
line manager for Asia. Chung fills a new position to support the growing demand for
the K-Flex products and will be responsible
for K-Flex sales and
operations throughout the region. She
will be located in the
company’s offices in
Hong Kong. Prior to
joining Emerald,
Chung filled a number
of roles in finance and
logistics, marketing,
and business development at Ciba Specialty
Chemicals and Huntsman Chemicals. During her time at these companies, she also
held key leadership positions, including assignments as global marketing manager for
Sharon Chung
apparel and home textile products, sales director of the textile effects business in South
China, and general manager of the Shen-zhen operation. She holds a B.S. degree in
chemistry from The University of Hong
Kong and an MBA from the University of
South Australia.
Lintech adds Charles Livingston
to its team
Charles Livingston joins Lintech with eight
years of experience in chemical distribution
territory management. His background in-
cludes inside sales, technical sales and col-
lege level instruction. He will focus on the
polymer, textile, adhesive and chemical pro-
cessing markets in the South Carolina area.
AkzoNobel’s CEO Ton Büchner
takes temporary leave of
absence
AkzoNobel’s Supervisory Board has announced that CEO Ton Büchner is taking a leave of
absence as a result of
a medical condition.
This decision has
been made based on
medical advice following Büchner
being diagnosed
with temporary fatigue. His recovery is
expected to enable him to return to work
in the first half of October.
In the meantime, the Supervisory Board
has asked CFO Keith Nichols to coordinate
and be first point of contact on the Executive Committee. Antony Burgmans, member of the Supervisory Board, will be on
hand to offer advice and support to Keith
and the Executive Committee. The company
will publish its Q3 results on October 18.
The investor meeting planned for October
22 will be postponed until further notice.

ACE Hardware president and
CEO to retire March 2013
Ace Hardware president and CEO Ray
Griffith has announced his plans to retire
from the hardware cooperative on March
31, 2013, and the company’s board of directors has named Ace’s COO John Venhuizen his successor. Venhuizen has
assumed the role of president, while retaining his existing COO duties of Ace
Hardware Corporation. Griffith will maintain his role as chief executive until his retirement. When Griffith retires in 2013, he
will have served as president, CEO or
COO for more than eight years, having
seen Ace through a period of dramatic
change, growth and financial success. Venhuizen brings a wealth of experience to the
position with a career spanning more than
20 years at Ace. Since joining the cooperative in 1992, Venhuizen has served as COO
and as vice president of business development, retail development, retail training
and international.
U.S. Zinc names Daud president
U.S. Zinc has promoted Rodrigo Daud to
president of the company. The former Votorantim executive vice president of commercial zinc for the global market, Daud
will be responsible for promoting the global
integration and leveraging the results of
U.S. Zinc. As EVP of commercial zinc,
Daud developed new markets and products
for the company’s presence in Brazil and
Peru. He also served as the head of operations at one of the plants of Votorantim’s
nickel business for three years. Throughout
his tenure at Votorantim Metais, of which
U.S. Zinc is an affiliate, Daud rapidly progressed in experience and responsibility,
working in areas such as maintenance, engineering and production.
Peeters named vice president
Electronics Solutions for Dow
Corning
Dow Corning has appointed Eric Peeters
vice president for Dow Corning’s Elec-
tronics Solutions. Peeters takes over for
James Helwick, who has led Dow Corn-
ing’s Electronics Business since 2010. CW
