Dunn-Edwards Introduces
Everest Interior Paint
Dunn-Edwards has introduced Everest, a
new line of interior, 100 percent acrylic,
self-priming, zero VOC paint. These new
ultra-premium interior paints are ideal for
use on high-end residential and commercial projects, schools, hospitals, hospitality or any application where self-priming,
zero VOC and low odor products are
preferred, the company reported. Everest
is available in Flat, Velvet, Eggshell and
Semi-Gloss finishes, in a complete range
of tint bases.
All Everest interior paints are formulated using superior pigment and resin
technology that provide exceptional performance, hide and adhesion.
Everest can be used on properly prepared interior wood, metal, masonry,
and drywall and is self priming on most
surfaces. The new Everest products are
now available in all Dunn-Edwards store
locations. Like all other Dunn-Edwards
products, Everest is eco-friendly, ethylene glycol (EG)-free and produced in the
world’s only LEED Gold-certified paint
manufacturing plant. All Dunn-Edwards
100 percent acrylic paint is tinted with
zero VOC colorants.
Saint-Gobain Ceramic
Materials Adds Green
Tinted Coatings to its
Combat Coating Portfolio
Saint-Gobain Ceramic Materials has
added new green tinted coatings to its
Combat Coating portfolio. The new tinted coating protects surfaces from extreme
conditions of high temperature, corrosion
or oxidation, while adding a color to improve application visibility and enable efficient re-application during processing.
Combat Boron Nitride coatings
are entirely inorganic and lubricious.
Resistant to high-temperature, corrosion
and wetting, Combat coatings can be
applied to a variety of porous and non-
porous materials including graphite, met-
als and ceramics. In a typical application,
such as secondary aluminum processing,
Combat BN tinted coatings remains color
fast at aluminum melt temperatures. This
eliminates the guesswork and allows for
easy and visual detection of areas where
re-application is necessary.
The new addition to Combat coatings specifically targets mold release
applications in high temperature environments such as light metal processing,
secondary aluminum manufacturing
and glass manufacturing.
NEI Corp. Unveils
NANOMYTE SR-100EC
NEI Corporation has introduced a
transparent, micron-thick coating that
provides both scratch resistance and
easy-to-clean properties to surfaces. The
waterborne SR-100EC coating can be
applied to plastics such as polycarbon-ate, PMMA, PET, polyurethane, epoxy, as
well as metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, brass and chrome. The
surface treatment is mechanically stable,
is highly repellent to water and oils, and
it enhances lubricity. By applying SR-
100EC on the surface of components, soil
and liquids simply slide off the surface,
thereby helping prevent deposits and extending the time between cleanings.
SR-100EC is easy to use and is ideally suited for optical lenses, touch screen
protectors, stainless steel appliances,
hand rails, and faucets. The liquid coating
solution can be applied by dipping, spraying, roll or flow coating and is available
in 1, 5, and 55 gallon quantities. NEI also
offers in-house coatings services for customer parts. Additionally, NEI provides
coatings development services wherein
coating formulations are created to address specific customer requirements.
NEI’s SR-100EC coating is based on
a patent pending, water-based coating
composition comprised of functionalized
perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs). Although
PFPEs are known for their non-stick
and lubricating properties, it has been a
major technical challenge to incorporate
them into a stable formulation that can
lead to a coating with sufficient adhesion
to various substrates. NEI’s SR-100EC
formulation overcomes this stability issue. Additionally, while PFPE-based,
easy-to-clean coatings currently
on the market generally form
very thin (< 100nm) coatings,
SR-100EC coatings have a thickness of 2-5 microns, thereby creating a
more mechanically stable coating that
cannot easily be removed by abrasion,
harsh cleaners or chemicals.

Nippon Paint Introduces
OdourlessAirCare Offering
Protection Against Indoor
Pollutants
Japan-based Nippon Paint Group recently launched an odorless air care product
that cleanses the air by absorbing the
indoor air pollutant. The latest product
from the company will initially be available in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh
markets. It would also be rolled out in the
other markets in coming months.
Nippon Paint India offers a complete range of eco-friendly and low
coatings for concrete, wood and metals.
OdourlessAirCare is in line with this continuous endeavor of bringing forth paint
solutions that are both eco and health
friendly, the company said. Developed
to improve air quality, Nippon Paint
OdourlessAirCare uses Active Carbon
Technology which absorbs free “
formaldehyde” from the air and convert it
to water vapor while strengthening the
paint film. CW
