Stand up to lift up: Hyster Co. introduces the E30-
40HSD2 series of electric stand-up lift trucks. These
three-wheel vehicles deliver lifting capacities of 3,000
to 4,000 pounds and are versatile enough for use in
a wide variety of material handling operations.
Engineered with ease of operation in mind, the
new lift trucks feature suspended floor
plates with anti-fatigue mats that absorb
and reduce the transmission of vibration and
shock to the operator by 25 percent. The trucks also utilize multi-function control handles as well as other productivity-enhancing
features, such as a low-effort hydraulic control, flex-stance compartment, and an optional integral sideshift. The operator compartment has controls that are positioned to allow a side stance or 45-
degree stance to maximize comfort, efficiency, and visibility.
The E30-40HSD2 series’ three-wheel configuration provides a
tighter turning radius for significant maneuverability that makes
stacking in tight spaces and congested loading bays easier. The
dual steer wheels provide a smoother, more stable ride. Other features include the grid-style pattern of the overhead guard, which
provides excellent visibility while protecting operators.
The E30-40HSD2 lift trucks’ top and front console covers are
made of a durable crack-resistant ABS polymer and include large storage areas for operator convenience. The brushless AC traction and
hydraulic motors, powered by transistor controls, are durable enough
to handle the toughest-duty cycle, while reducing maintenance costs
and enhancing productivity. (Hyster Co., www.hyster.com)
On Trak: Intelligrated has introduced Real Time Solutions Trak3
multicolor pick-to-light hardware. The technology debuts along
with upgraded Real Time Solutions order fulfillment software and
mobile applications for the iPhone and other browser-based smart
phones.
The Real Time Solutions Trak3 display offers multicolored indicator lights to enable four order fillers to work in the same pick
zone and to allow the simultaneous filling of multiple orders. It also
allows users to direct operators to perform value-added services.
The energy-efficient LED displays are easy to read and simple to
install. Updated at-a-glance workload status screens allow supervisors to make immediate zone assessments and view deployed
workers during peak periods.
Intelligrated has also released its new RF Assist application,
which allows operators to handle hot orders or exceptions using
RF- or voice-directed activity without interfering with pick-to-light
operations.
Also new from Intelligrated are user-friendly Real Time Solutions
applications for the iPhone and other browser-based smart
phones. The applications provide DC supervisors with quick access
to productivity and labor monitoring screens from their mobile
phones. Supervisors can also get an inside status view of any carton using their iPhone’s camera or by typing in a UPC code. This
mobile productivity checking ensures that backlogged or rogue cartons are addressed and gives supervisors the information they
need to make adjustments. (Intelligrated, www.intelligrated.com)
Standing ovation: Yale Materials Handling Corp. has introduced
the ESC030-040AC series of electric stand-up lift trucks. These
three-wheel AC lift trucks provide dependable performance for lifting capacities of 3,000 to 4,000 pounds in applications like retail
distribution, food production and processing, general warehousing,
and freight transportation.
Each truck features exclusive precision load positioning that
allows the operator to more precisely control the truck’s position
while working on an incline (such as on a dock or in a trailer), minimizing the likelihood of product damage from unintended
load contact. The lift truck’s
dual-steer tires, with hydraulic-actuated rack-and-pinion steer
axle, also provide precise, reliable control.
Standard, dual independent
AC drive motors with separate
drive controllers provide optimum maneuverability while
turning, according to the manufacturer. As the truck begins to turn, the inside motor initially
slows, then stops and finally reverses to minimize the turning
radius. The AC Transistor lift pump control matches pump speed
with hydraulic flow requirements for increased efficiency, quieter
operation, and reduced maintenance.
To increase operator comfort and productivity, the driver compartment features padded back- and arm-rests as well as a fully
padded floor with a 3/4-inch thick rubber mat, a shock-absorbent
“isolated” floor design that reduces operator fatigue, and a low 7-
inch step height to allow easy entry and exit. (Yale Materials

Belt way: Hytrol Conveyor Co.
introduces the E24 Timing
Belt Transfer, the latest addition to its E24 conveyor family. E24 is a line of motor driven roller (MDR) conveyors
that use a series of 24-volt
motors.
The E24 Timing Belt Transfer offers exceptional flexibility and
increases productivity by providing outstanding throughput,
according to the manufacturer. The neoprene timing belts are coated with urethane to ensure positive grip when transferring the
product. The drive sheaves come standard with ABEC- 1 bearings,
contributing to longer transfer life.
The unit’s modular design allows for simple system configurations. Integrating an E24 Transfer into a system is easy, as the standard configuration bolts into 3-inch roller centers in just minutes.
The E24 Transfer sorts up to 40 cartons per minute and can be
engineered to fit nearly any application. (Hytrol Conveyor Co.,
