Enhancements to Pick Execution system:
Numina Group has added labor management
and velocity-based SKU-picking analytics to its
line of pre-developed software modules and
automation technologies dedicated to optimizing the pick, pack, and ship process. The new
modules work within Numina Group’s Pick
Execution system, which already includes pick-to-light, voice picking, and an RF-based system.
Pick Execution not only automates the pick-and-pack process, but also provides the tools to
increase the profitability of the overall order fulfillment process.
Adding the Labor Management Module and
SKU Velocity Analytics boosts voice picking by
providing the operational tools that enable such
process improvements as re-slotting higher
movers into “golden zones” (between the picker’s shoulders and knees) and optimizing the
picking walk path to reduce order fulfillment
labor. (Numina Group, www.numinagroup.com)
Wi-iQ battery monitoring system: The
EnerSys Wi-iQ battery monitoring system helps
to power a battery fleet more productively and
profitably. This system collects a range of battery operating data, including amp hours (AH)
charged and discharged, temperature voltage,
and electrolyte level. The Wi-iQ battery monitoring system provides early warning signs of
battery abuse, allowing for corrective action
before the battery is damaged.
The collected data can be uploaded via wireless communication to a computer containing
the Wi-iQ Reporting Suite analytical software,
which provides at-a-glance exception reporting
as well as easy-to-use battery operation and
condition reports. The system ensures that users
are properly charging and discharging their batteries, which increases available battery capacity
and reduces battery-replacement costs.
Among the Wi-iQ battery monitoring system’s features are universal DC cable sizing, for
all battery types with up to 4/0 cable sizes; a
temperature warning, which enables the monitoring of high-temperature risks; and voltage
imbalance notification, which indicates possible
trouble with cells before battery failure occurs.
The device captures and records up to 2,555
cycles of battery data and provides wireless data
downloading to a personal computer within a
range of 100 feet. (EnerSys, www.enersys.com)
