Spiral lift conveyor: Designed with a small footprint to
optimize space, Interroll’s new Spiral Lift transports boxes, containers, and goods of all shapes and sizes. The Spiral Lift offers
a minimum height of 25.59 inches (infeed elevation) up to 183
inches (discharge elevation). Available in 45-degree increments
to provide maximum flexibility, the lift can handle loads of up to
20 pounds per foot, speeds of up to 100 feet per minute, and
items up to 17 inches wide, the company says.
Interroll says it engineered the unit with safety and cost savings in mind, adding overlapping slats to better protect operators
and rolling friction and rubberized ball bearings to allow less
friction. (Interroll, www.interroll.us)
Book sorter: Sitma Machinery, an equipment manufacturer
for the packaging, post-press, direct mailing, and e-logistics
sectors, has introduced the Speedy Sort, a sorter with pockets
to manage distribution and recovery of products such as leaflets
or books. It features a “ring”
Speedy Sort can work with up
to four infeed points, each one
including up to three conveyors.
If the exit from the flow is not
available because of some temporary obstruction or absence of the carriage, the sorter keeps
the product within the pocket until the exit becomes usable
again. According to the company, Speedy Sort’s flexibility makes
it possible to put the feeding points on any of the four corners,
reducing the slot’s runarounds and maximizing productivity.

Transfer plates: Flexco has introduced a Segmented
Transfer Plate option for 1.5- to 3-inch gaps between conveyor
belts. The company’s Segmented Transfer Plates are designed to
prevent products, foreign objects, and debris from jamming in
the transfer, with the goal of minimizing product and belt damage, increasing efficiency, and eliminating downtime.
Flexco designed its Segmented Transfer Plates to cover the
gap between conveyors that are positioned belt to belt, belt
to chute, and belt to roller. Available for belt widths of up to
60 inches (1500 mm), the transfer plates protect packages and
other products from damage, while preventing belt tears and
other damage from lodged foreign objects, the company says.
The original design featured paired segments to accommodate
gap widths from four to 10 inches (100 to 250 mms). The new
narrow-gap option accommodates 1.5- to 3-inch ( 38 to 75 mm)
gaps. According to Flexco, molded-in ribs on the segment surface reduce friction by up to 10 percent and allow packages to
transition over the plates.
Installing the Segmented Transfer Plates is easy, with flexible
mounting options that can be bolted or welded in place, the
company says. (Flexco, www.flexco.com)
Sorter solution: Intralogistics company Beumer Group has
introduced a new high-performance sorter solution, the BG
sorter. The new technology is designed to meet the needs of
warehouses and distribution centers working in e-commerce and
Industry 4.0 environments, the company says. (Beumer Group,

Pallet conveyor: Honeywell Intelligrated has introduced its
Palmat pallet conveyor. Palmat features heavy-duty plastic belting
with an automatic belt take-up system to offer an alternative
to rollers and chains for safe and reliable transportation of col-umn-stacked or unitized loads on slipsheets, along with molded
or specialty pallets.
Suitable for applications with fragile or unstable loads, the
self-tracking, fully supported belt is designed to be an effective
solution for handling empty containers in preparation for fill
lines in food and beverage operations. Palmat, which is available
with smooth or non-skid belting in single, full-width, or multiple
strands, can support operations serving multiple international
markets with different load configurations and pallet types.
Palmat is part of the full line of standard and custom pallet
conveyor systems from Honeywell Intelligrated. Offerings include
chain and driven roller conveyor for both accumulation and
transportation applications, turns and transfers, and auxiliary
products to enable peak operational performance and efficiency.
Honeywell Intelligrated provides these pallet-handling solutions
as standalone components or as part of fully integrated material handling systems, with easy-to-use controls and software
designed to interface with host systems. (Honeywell Intelligrated,

Automated roller and belt conveyor: Swiss startup
Avancon SA has introduced what it describes as an innovative
conveyor system for unit handling. The zone-powered conveyor
(ZPC) system works in zones with full zero pressure functionality.
According to the manufacturer, the versatile unit can transport
cartons, boxes, trays, totes, bags, solar cells and panels, and
furniture.
The ZPC roller- and belt-conveyor system is designed to
allow companies to build large or small material handling and
distribution systems that control themselves autonomously via
the field-bus AS-interface. The company says the system also
allows communication to higher-level IT/BUS systems, reducing
programming time and costs. (Avancon SA, www.avancon.com)
Learning management system: BluJay Solutions, a provider
of supply chain software and services, has introduced a learning
management system (LMS) as part of its BluJay University program.
BluJay University offers global training programs for customers,
partners, and internal teams to help organizations leverage the
full functionality and value of their BluJay solutions. The LMS
