Hybrid pallets: In October, Green Pallets Inc.
launched a new series of Hybrid Pallets, which
combine plastic and wood. To that series of pallets, the company has now added a three-stringer four-way pine hybrid pallet and a
three-stringer two-way pine hybrid pallet.
These pallets complement the company’s existing oak hybrid pallets. (Green Pallets Inc.,

Automated storage and retrieval system:
Integrated Systems Design’s (ISD) midload
UltraStore automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) is now available with an optional
“perfect-uptime” feature. This option allows
companies to access the inventory in the system during downtimes, including preventive
maintenance periods.
The midload UltraStore AS/RS system is sur-face-mounted and does not use any center railing. As a result, the UltraStore unit can be
moved out of the aisle, and the inventory and
material can be accessed immediately with the
perfect-uptime system. Utilizing the perfect-uptime system allows organizations to reduce
safety stock and redundant inventory, according to ISD. (Integrated Systems Design,

Storage and handling system: Lista
International Corp. has introduced a new pal-let-based storage and handling system for
heavy and bulky items. The Stak System uses
dynamically adjustable pallets (rather than fixed
shelves) and a captive lifting-and-handling
device. According to Lista, the Stak System
helps to maximize storage density by minimizing the vertical space requirements of each
stored pallet and its contents.
The system has a modular design with add-on bays. It uses a unique handling device,
which makes removing even large loads easy,
according to Lista. Operators remove and
replace loaded pallets by guiding the mast to a
new position, where the pallets can then be
easily extracted. The handling device maneuvers on four axes, allowing for simple, intuitive
positioning, according to Lista. It also features
easy-to-learn controls that do not require a
license or certification to operate.
Lista offers a range of Stak Systems to suit different work environments, such as the 2K,
designed to accommodate storage items weighing up to 2,000 pounds, and the 4K, designed to
accommodate items weighing up to 4,000
pounds. (Lista International, www.listaintl.com/)
Flexible zone control: Intelligrated, a North America-based automated material
handling solutions provider, has released ZoneFlex, a flexible zone control for the
company’s Accuglide and IntelliQ zero-pressure accumulation conveyors.
Designed to handle packages of different sizes and weights, ZoneFlex creates
high-density accumulation, while its
multiple release modes enable high-capacity throughput. With built-in
logic and selectable release modes,
ZoneFlex is designed to move previously accumulated product downstream quickly by monitoring and
automatically responding to accumulation conditions. This capability
simplifies control logic and increases
available product for downstream
applications.
According to Intelligrated, the new system improves material handling efficiency while creating superior carton control, gentle product handling, and increased
conveyable cartons.
Clip-in mounting, simple switch configuration, and LED diagnostics allow
operators to quickly replace, modify, and monitor zone controllers. This design
feature simplifies maintenance and increases system flexibility. (Intelligrated,
