Transportation management system:
BlueGrace Logistics is rolling out a new transportation management system, BlueShip 3.0.
The new system will replace all prior versions
of the BlueShip brand.
BlueGrace designed BlueShip 3.0 based on
feedback from users on how they use the current transportation management platform.
Due to the feedback received, the new system
is faster, more responsive, and more intuitive
than previous BlueShip versions, the company
says. Additionally, 3.0 will have scheduled
updates every quarter to provide users with
more advanced functionality, customization,
and features.
Companies will have the ability to create a
customized platform and live reporting to
measure the effectiveness of their supply chain.

Mobile imager: Datalogic, a provider of automatic data capture and imaging technologies,
has released a mobile version of its PowerScan
9500 imager, the PBT9500 imager. This reader
utilizes Bluetooth wireless technology.
The PowerScan 9500 series of imagers are
two-dimensional handheld area imagers with
rugged mechanics for industrial applications.
The imagers combine omnidirectional reading
capabilities with state-of-the-art optical characteristics. These features result in the ability
to read any bar code regardless of the reader’s
orientation, from contact to 3. 3 feet away,
depending on the resolution of the bar code.
Datalogic’s PowerScan PBT9500 imager
includes Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology
compliancy and excellent power management, according to the company. The battery
is guaranteed to last more than one shift of
intensive scanning and can be changed in
three seconds when needed. (Datalogic ADC,

Compact cart: Kinetic Technologies Inc.’s Pup
Cart is a compact version of the small-parts
delivery cart. It measures 36. 25 inches by 25. 5
inches and is 41 inches high. The Pup Cart
was designed in response to the need for a
delivery cart that can navigate narrow aisles
and walkways.
The Pup Cart can be tugged behind a larger delivery cart and quickly detached. It has six
wheels and double handles as well as two
adjustable/removable shelves with a capacity
rated at 300 pounds each.
Standard features include a floor lock, self-stowing tow bar, “quiet wheels,” clevis/pin
hitch, and a yellow powder-paint finish.

Regenerative drive: KEB America Inc.’s new R6-NCM line regenerative drives allow
energy to be returned to the electrical line during periods of motor overhauling. This
feature is particularly relevant for lifting or hoisting machines, automated storage
and retrieval systems (AS/RS), inclined conveyors, lifts, and cranes. The new drives
can provide energy cost savings, the company says.
The new units use an improved control scheme called “natural current modulation” (NCM) to return energy to the incoming line. The net result of the new NCM
control scheme is improved performance in the form of lower power distortion and
simplified wiring. (KEB America Inc., www.kebamerica.com) ;
