Spiral conveyors: The new Ryson High Capacity Spiral Conveyors were designed in response to customers’ need to go higher and handle more weight. The new spirals can handle double the capacity of Ryson’s regular spirals and can optionally have loads enter and exit the spirals at intermediate elevations. Ryson’s new induction and divert conveyors are individually adjustable to match the spiral pitch, assuring a smooth entry and exit. The load capacity is 75 pounds per linear foot of conveyor for speeds of up to 200 feet per minute.

The conveyors only require one drive motor, which results in substantial savings in energy, controls, and systems integration, according to the manufacturer. The conveyors can be shipped in one piece, preassembled and pretested, which reduces the time and cost of installation. (Ryson, www.ryson.com)

Transportation management software: Kewill has expanded its Kewill Move on the Cloud for Shippers platform, which provides hosted multimodal transportation management software.

Designed for manufacturers across a variety of industry sectors, the solution allows these companies to manage their own transportation planning and execution. It also automates the transportation management process and increases supply chain visibility. The solution includes key supply chain functions, such as multimodal transportation, customs compliance, warehousing, and end-to-end shipment visibility and integration.

Kewill Move on the Cloud can help companies reduce freight costs by 5 to 15 percent by optimizing route planning, carrier selection, and consolidation, the company says. It also automates shipment tenders, appointment scheduling, and shipment status updates.
