Mobile computer: The CN51, a new rugged
mobile computer from Intermec, is the company’s latest product to offer the choice of
Android or Windows operating systems on a
single device.
The new CN51 is available with Intermec’s
EA30 or EA31 high-performance imagers,
which can read one- and two-dimensional bar
codes in various conditions, including low-light scanning environments. The device’s
mobile document imaging (MDI) and remote
deposit capture (RDC) provide a fast and reliable way to convert full-sized paper documents or check payments into electronic files
while on the road, transmitting directly from
the point of capture to the back office.
The CN51 has a large multitouch outdoor-readable screen, which provides ample room
for viewing applications as well as space for
capturing signatures. It’s also equipped with
smart battery technology, which allows the
battery to last through a 12-hour shift without having to be replaced or recharged.
The device comes with Intermec’s
CloneNGo, which makes it easy to replicate a
master configuration across an unlimited
number of devices. This application allows the
devices to get up and running quickly.
The CN51 offers improved processor and
area imager performance over the current
CN50 mobile computer. However, all CN50
accessories are compatible with the new CN51.
Intermec is now part of Honeywell
Scanning & Mobility. (Intermec, www.inter-
