BASF joins creative forces with Chip Foose
executive director effective July 8,
2008. Following Pontoski’s resignation, Pat Ziegler will be appointed
FSCT staff director, responsible for
managing the day to day administrative functions of the Plymouth
Meeting, PA office while maintaining
her current responsibilities as director of communications. The remaining
duties of the executive director’s position will be combined into the office of
the FSCT CEO.
The partnership between BASF and Chip Foose is aimed at promoting BASF waterborne
refinish products and jointly developing “Foose-inspired” BASF automotive refinish colors.
BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions
has signed a multi-year agreement with
Chip Foose, well-known automotive and
product designer, to promote its waterborne automotive refinishes and to
develop a new line of automotive refinish colors under the Foose name.
Foose owns Foose Design, a company
that specializes in illustration, graphics, ideation model making, surfacing
and complete construction of automobiles and automotive related products.
“Chip Foose has long been a friend of
BASF and a fan of our automotive refinish paints,” said Darlene Eilenberger,
director of marketing for BASF
Coatings in North America. “We are
very excited about taking our relationship with Chip to a new level as we
work with him to create a new line of
custom colors.”
BASF will debut its Foose-inspired
automotive refinish paint colors later
this year.
INDUSTRIAL NANOTECH
CONTINUES TO EXPAND
A fourth NASCAR race team has purchased Industrial Nanotech’s nanotechnology-based coating, NanoBoost, for use
on racecars to control heat transfer and
improve performance.
NanoBoost is one of the products in
the company’s nanotechnology-based
Nansulate product line. It has been used
by NASCAR races teams and the Ford
V8 Supercar team—Betta Electrical—
since 2005.
In other news, Chinese distributor,
NorthStar Power Engineering, has
begun working with a major Asian automotive manufacturer to trial NanoBoost.
“We are excited about the recent
events in Asia between our Chinese
distributor and this well-known auto
maker. We believe we can meet their
requirements and satisfy their objectives in fuel and energy savings with
our technology,” said Francesca
Crolley, VP of operations and marketing for Industrial Nanotech, Inc,
Naples, FL. “Other target markets for
our fuel saving technology are freight
shippers, including the U.S. Postal
Service and UPS.”
