Eliokem launches Pliotec PA20 latex
Eliokem has launched Pliotec PA20 latex
for use in lower VOC coatings. Pliotec
PA20 has a low co-solvent demand and
can be formulated below 50 g/l VOC.
Coatings based on Pliotec PA20 can be
applied to fresh concrete and primed and
top coated after 24 hours. The product
features water and early moisture resistance, good exterior weatherability and
UV resistance, good early block resistance and good adhesion to concrete and

DOW BIOCIDES OFFERS
LOW VOC ALTERNATIVE
Dow Biocides has launched Canguard
Ultra BIT 20 LE preservative, which
provides a low VOC biocide for paint and
coatings preservation. It is a broad-spectrum biocide that can be used under a
broad range of pH and temperature conditions. This high purity non-formalde-hyde bactericide is an effective preservative in most aqueous compositions and
can be used in a variety of applications
including polymer latex and emulsion
systems and water-based paint, coatings
and adhesives. Benefits of the product
include it is near neutral, minimizing the
risk of pH shock of the treated formulation, good thermal stability, low freezing
point and compatibility with most anionic, cationic and non-ionic dispersant.

DEFOAMER CONCENTRATE
Tego Coating Additives and Specialty
Resins has introduced Tego Foamex 883
for pigmented water-based formulations.
Foamex 883 is compatible with a variety
of water-based resin systems including
acrylic emulsions, styrene acrylic emulsions, vinyl and EVA emulsions,
polyurethane dispersions and hybrid
resins. The defoamer demonstrates good
compatibility in a wide variety of pigmented formulations. Foamex 883 is a
polyether siloxane copolymer containing
fumed silica. The recommended addition
level of 0.1-0.5% as supplied is based on
