AkzoNobel’s Ecosure paint range launched
AkzoNobel’s new Ecosure line includes
matt, gloss and undercoat varieties.
AkzoNobel has launched Ecosure, an
environmentally friendly decorative
paint range for the professional market.
The product was developed by Dulux
Trade in conjunction with Forum for
the Future, an independent group of
sustainability experts. For AkzoNobel it
represents a major step towards environmentally sustainable paint with
reduced carbon and VOCs. Ecosure’s
packaging is also made from at least
25% recycled materials. Ecosure was
endorsed by Marks & Spencer at the
recent EcoBuild 2008 event and will be
trialed by the retail firm at its new
White City store in London.
VALSPAR DURAMAX SEMI-GLOSS
The Valspar Corporation has introduced Valspar Duramax in semi-gloss.
Valspar Duramax Semi-Gloss joins
Duramax Flat and Duramax Satin
paints. Valspar Duramax paint is
infused with Crosslinking Ti3 technology for maximum adhesion, UV protection and durability. Drying quickly,
Valspar Duramax creates a thicker finish to help hide minor surface defects
and small cracks. Water-based and
100% acrylic, Valspar Duramax cleans
up easily with soap and water and is
low odor. Valspar Duramax Semi-Gloss
is available at Lowe’s nationwide.
SOLAR REFLECTIVE EXTRUSION
COATING FOR GREEN BUILDING
The Valspar Corporation has developed
Flurospar SR coatings, a solar reflective
paint for the aluminum extrusion and
wall panel market. Coating aluminum
windows, curtain walls, shutters,
awnings, louvers, wall panels and other
building components with Flurospar
SR coatings reduces surface temperature, resulting in cooler internal building temperatures, according to the company. It is formulated with solar reflec-
tive (SR) pigments that keep building
components cooler than bare aluminum, anodized aluminum, and comparable paint colors. Flurospar SR finishes are available in a wide variety of
colors including white, black, green,
blue, brown and red. Pearlescent effects
are also available in the Flurospar SR
Classic II formulation.
EXTERIOR PVC COATING FROM
APV ENGINEERED COATINGS
In response to the increasing usage of
plastic in exterior applications, APV
Engineered Coatings has developed a
line of Kynar-based coatings for both
rigid and non-rigid PVC plastic. These
products are formulated to cure at relatively low temperatures and oven dwell
times, are durable, exhibit good substrate adhesion, and are UV and weather resistant. The product line is available in both water- and solvent-based
formulations, and can be applied using
either spray or roll coat methods.
