Management change at Relius Coatings
Martin Wulle became the new managing director of Relius Coatings GmbH &
Co. KG, with headquarters in
Oldenburg, Germany and head of
BASF’s architectural coatings for
Europe. Prior to this, Wulle was head of
BASF Coatings Services GmbH
Germany and Austria. In 1994, Wulle
became the head of Germany-wide distribution for BASF’s R-M brand automotive refinish products in
Heusenstamm. Starting in 1997, he was
in charge of the Asia/Pacific automotive
refinish unit in Singapore. Two years
later, he became the head of BASF
Coatings Services GmbH Germany. In
2005, Wulle was also appointed head of
BASF Coatings Services GmbH
Austria.
JÄRVINEN APPOINTED
PRESIDENT AND CEO TIKKURILA OY
Erkki Järvinen has been appointed
president and CEO of Tikkurila Oy. He
previously worked as president and
CEO of Rautakirja Corp. Simo Laitala
has been appointed regional director for
Tikkurila Deco East, Central Asia, as
well as the new general director of the
subsidiary TOO Tikkurila. Based in
Almaty, Kazakstan, he will be responsible for developing Tikkurila’s decorative
paints business in Central Asia. He will
report to Janno Paju, vice president,
Tikkurila Deco East.
HEUCOTECH PROMOTES
POEMER TO BUSINESS MANAGER
Heucotech Ltd., a Heubach company,
has promoted Robert Poemer to business manager. In his new role Poemer
will be responsible for the marketing
strategy of Heubach’s pigments and
preparations in the NAFTA region for
all markets. Prior to joining the
Heubach Group, Poemer was in leadership positions in marketing, manufacturing and purchasing for more
than 25 years.
EVONIK INORGANIC MATERIALS
NAMES LUPPINO VICE PRESIDENT
Evonik Industries has appointed John
Luppino, vice president, key account
management–specialty inorganics, for
the company’s North American inorganic materials business unit.
Luppino, an experienced sales and
marketing professional, will be based
in Parsippany, NJ. Luppino will be
responsible for the sales of the inorganic materials business unit’s products in the region. Luppino will report
to Jack Clem, senior vice president,
inorganic materials North America.
ISP APPOINTS LE PAGNE
SENIOR SALES ENGINEER
David Le Pagne has joined
International Specialty Products’
(ISP) North America performance
chemicals and biocides sales team as
senior sales engineer for the West
Coast region of the U.S. He will be
based in Pasadena, CA and reports
directly to Pierre Varin, North
America sales director–performance
chemicals and biocides. Le Pagne
comes to ISP from Clariant Corp.,
where he worked in sales on the West
Coast for the company’s pigments and
additives division.
ELIOKEM APPOINTS DIRECTOR
FOR NORTH AMERICAN OPERATIONS
Eliokem has appointed John Malloy
director, Eliokem, Inc. Malloy was
previously the director of finance and
administration for Eliokem and will
retain those duties along with the
new director appointment effective
immediately.
FUSION UV SYSTEMS APPOINTS
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Fusion UV Systems, Inc. has
appointed P.K. Swain chief technology officer and vice president technology. In his new position, Swain is
responsible for providing technology
leadership for the company; driving
the evaluation, development and
acquisition of new technologies,
materials and processes that will
shape and define Fusion UV’s next
generation products.
SARTOMER NAMES AUSTIN PLASTICS
MARKET DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Sartomer Company has named
Jeremy Austin market development
engineer. He is responsible for market and technology development of
functional additives exclusively for
the global plastics industry. Austin
reports to Al Pape, business development manager.
RPM HIRES SENIOR
FINANCIAL ANALYST
RPM has hired Treena C. Johnson as a
senior financial analyst. She will report
to RPM’s vice president and controller,
Barry Slifstein, and succeeds Melissa
Schoger, who transferred to RPM’s
European headquarters.
RPMhas also elected Frank C.
Sullivan to the position of chairman
and chief executive officer. He succeeds chairman Thomas C. Sullivan,
who retired after 37 years in that
post, but will remain on the company’s board of directors as chairman
emeritus.

MAKES CHANGES
Karen Brophy, controller of Micro
Powders has announced her retirement. Brophy served as controller
and office manager of Micro Powders
for 19 years. Taking over for Brophy’s
responsibilities will be Bill Paladino
as controller and Toni-Raye Gizzo as
office manager in addition to her role
as marketing manager. Gary Strauss
will continue to serve the customer
