Sun Chemical offers HPP for auto coatings
Sun Chemical has introduced Palomar
Delta Blue 60, a new durable reddish
blue high performance pigment for
automotive coatings. By virtue of the
pigment’s reddish blue shade, compared
with conventional Blue 60, up to 50% of
the pigmentation in paint can be
phthalocyanine blue, which can save
costs, according to the company. Delta
Blue pigments are designed for automotive coatings, but they can also be used
in other high performance and industrial applications. Delta Blue pigments
offer excellent fastness properties and
are transparent with hue neutral flop
characteristics that are useful for
styling metallic effect colors. While recommended for water-based coatings,
Delta Blue 60 pigments are suitable for

LAUNCHES TWO TI02 PIGMENTS
Huntsman Pigments has introduced
two new titanium dioxide pigments
for the European market. Deltio 81X
is the first pigment in the Deltio
range designed specifically for the
industrial coatings market. It is a
low dust free-flow pigment which
offers outstanding powder handling,
enhanced productivity, excellent
resistance to weathering, together
with brilliant whiteness and high
gloss, according to the company.
Tioxide TR88 is a new versatile
grade in the Tioxide pigment range
developed for both interior and exterior decorative coatings applications.
Tioxide TR88 provides excellent
color, opacity and durability in a
range of low VOC paint formulations,
including high quality interior matt
and semi-gloss emulsions, exterior
wood finishes and masonry paint.

ROSS’ NEW 150 HP
ULTRA HIGH SHEAR MIXER
Charles Ross and Son Company has
introduced the new model of the
PreMax Mixer, one of the company’s
specialty high shear mixer designs. The
PreMax is a highly efficient mixer, often
used to improve dispersion prior to
milling. The PreMax contains a specially designed rotor/stator that creates
high flow and shear rates. The mixer
can reduce the number of passes
required to obtain high quality dispersion by up to 50% of which is normally
required, according to the company.
