Shamrock makes key appointments
Shamrock Technologies has named
Steven M. Parker president and chief
operating officer. William B. Neuberg
will remain chairman and chief executive officer. Parker, a 30-year veteran of advanced materials industries,
has held key executive positions at
the former Allied-Signal Corp. (now
Honeywell), the Ausimont Division of
Montedison SpA, Saint-Gobain and,
most recently, as division president
and commercial director for UK-based Oxford Instruments. With his
background in global business,
Parker served in an advisory role to
the Shamrock leadership team during much of 2009.
Shamrock has also named Craig
Baudendistel director of sales.
Immediately prior to joining Shamrock, Baudendistel was the new market development manager at Cargill,
Inc. Baudendistel will be responsible
for executing the strategic sales and
business development efforts of the
company’s core inks and coatings
businesses. Baudendistel has more
than 25 years experience in sales,
marketing and business development in inks and coatings. The
majority of his experience was
gained at Elementis Specialties
where he assumed increasingly
responsible sales positions ranging
from district and regional sales management to business director of inks
and coatings.
RPM INTERNATIONAL
NAMES MATEJKA CFO
RPM International Inc. has announced
that P. Kelly Tompkins, executive vice
president and chief financial officer,
will be resigning, to accept the position
of executive vice president of legal,
government affairs and sustainability
for Cleveland-based Cliffs Natural Re-
sources Inc. Robert L. Matejka, who
had previously served as RPM’s chief
financial officer from 2001 through
2007 has been named the company’s
chief financial officer. Matejka joined
RPM in 2000 as vice president and
controller and served as the company’s
chief financial officer from 2001
through 2007.
PPG APPOINTS JORDAN VP,
HUMAN RESOURCES
PPG Industries has announced that J.
Craig Jordan, PPG director, labor compensation and employee relations, will
succeed Charles
W. “Bud” Wise as
vice president,
human resources,
effective Aug. 1,
when Wise will
retire from the
company. Jordan
will become a
member of PPG’s
operating committee, reporting to
chairman and CEO Charles E. Bunch.
Jordan joined PPG in 1989 as
director, human resources, at the
company’s Natrium, WV, plant, and
in 1992 moved to the corporate labor
relations staff as manager, industrial
relations. In 1994, he was appointed
director of human resources for the
fiber glass business, and in 1999, he
became director, human resources,
for optical products, based at
Pinellas Park, FL. Jordan assumed
responsibility for corporate industrial relations in 2003, and his responsibilities subsequently expanded to
include employee relations, policy
and compensation.
Wise joined PPG in 1969 at its former Mount Vernon, OH, glass plant.

ulty at Juniata College from 1973 to
1979, Wise returned to PPG and progressed through numerous human
resources management roles in the
coatings businesses and at the corporate level prior to being elected to his
current post.
NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED FOR DOW
CORNING CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Jim Hayes has been named commercial director for the Dow Corning
Construction Industry, Americas
region. He will be responsible for
advancing several of the company’s
construction initiatives focused on
developing innovative energy efficiency and green building solutions.
Previously, Hayes led several energy
management programs within Dow
Corning’s Business and Technology
Incubator.
VALSPAR ELECTS COOK TO
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Valspar Corporation has elected
William M. Cook to its board of direc-
tors. He will also serve on Valspar’s
compensation committee. Cook is chair-
man of the board, president and CEO of
Donaldson Company Inc. and is also a
director of IDEX Corporation
CYTEC INDUSTRIES ELECTS
NEW CORPORATE OFFICER
Cytec Industries’ board of directors
has elected William Wood as a corpo-
rate officer effective immediately in
addition to his existing roles as pres-
ident, Cytec Engineered Materials
and a member of the executive lead-
ership team. Wood has held various
commercial, operations and general
management roles across Engineered
Materials in the U.S. and Europe. He
came to Cytec as part of the Fiberite
acquisition in 1997. CW
