Fresh Paint
AkzoNobel creates store-within-a-warehouse
In addition to the International Paint name, the store’s signage will now feature its
new go-forward name, Betonel-Dulux. Dulux and Devoe High Performance Coatings
brands are prominently displayed in the store showroom. The Dorval facility was renovated to transform what was strictly office and warehouse space, into a layout featuring a traditional paint store, complete with walk-in showroom and an array of architectural paints, color displays and related products.
International Paint Protective
Coatings, an AkzoNobel business and
leading global supplier of high-performance protective coatings and fire
protection products, has joined forces
with AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints
Canada group, to consolidate sales and
distribution operations under a “
store-within-a-warehouse” concept in Dorval,
Quebec. The 25,000 square-foot Dorval
facility was occupied by International
Paint exclusively, operating as a distribution service center for the company’s
protective coatings and marine products. Although the distribution center’s
lease agreement wasn’t due to expire
until early 2010, it was clear to Richard
Champagne, manager of Protective
Coatings Eastern Canada, that the
facility’s space requirement was actually larger than what they needed.
During the second half of 2009, con-
struction began on the Dorval facility
to transform what was strictly office
and warehouse space, into a layout
featuring a traditional paint store,
complete with walk-in showroom and
an array of architectural paints, color
displays and related products. In addi-
tion to the International Paint name,
the store’s signage will now feature its
new go-forward name, Betonel-Dulux.
Dulux and Devoe High Performance
Coatings brands are prominently dis-
played in the store showroom, in order
to reinforce the brands’ important her-
itage to professional painters and
maintenance users.
