Enhanced Harmony Paints
Sherwin-Williams has introduced an enhanced Harmony Paint, with an innovation that helps promote better indoor air
quality by reducing airborne concentrations of formaldehyde and other aldehydes. The enhanced formula features
formaldehyde reducing technology that
helps reduce the levels of these VOCs
from potential sources like insulation,
carpet, cabinets, fabrics and other building materials.
Harmony Paint also delivers great hide
and a durable finish that can withstand
frequent washings, according to the company. It has anti-microbial properties to
inhibit the growth of mildew on the paint
film and has reduced odor during application and drying compared to conventional coatings. Like all Sherwin-Williams
latex and water-based paints, Harmony is
tinted with ColorCast Ecotoner colorants
that do not add VOCs to the tinted paint.
This zero-VOC acrylic latex paint is also
Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certified
and Greenguard Certified for Children
and Schools for low chemical emissions
into indoor air during product usage.
Polyglass Launches New
Cool Roof Solution
Polyglass U.S.A., Inc., a manufacturer of
modified bitumen membranes and roof
coatings in the commercial and residential
roofing industry, recently launched its latest Kool Roof Solution. Polyreflect modified bitumen membrane is a self-adhered,
white, reflective cap sheet that features a
specialized surface, which consists of a
tri-laminate film resulting in a highly reflective, smooth surfaced, quality roofing
membrane, according to the company.
Polyreflect’s Energy Star approved film
surface is listed with the Cool Roof Rating
Council with a Solar Reflectivity of 85 and
total Solar Reflective Index of 105.
Polyreflect is a sustainable roofing
membrane and can be revitalized after
many years of use with an application
of Polyglass’ Polybrite 70 elastomeric
roof coating, adding years to the life of
the roof. Polyreflect cap sheet features
patented ADESO Technology, a dual-compound technology using an APP or
SBS formulation on the top side and an
aggressive self-adhered formulation on
the bottom side of the reinforcement.
ADESO Technology integrates patented
features that enhance lap sealing.

launch of Sherwin-Williams Dry Erase 2K
Waterborne Clear Gloss, painting professionals can create versatile, economical dry
erase boards for a wide variety of applications in schools, businesses and homes.
Formulated exclusively for application by professional paint contractors,
Dry Erase Clear Gloss is ideal for use in
a wide array of settings, from classrooms,
conference rooms and small businesses,
to the home with kitchen message boards
and kids’ bedrooms. It is easily applied to
virtually any interior substrate and over
any paint color, producing a durable, clear
gloss finish that wipes clean every time for
years of use and no “ghosting,” according
to the company. It also has reduced odor
compared to other dry erase coatings.
Dunn-Edwards Unveils Acri-
Wall Zero VOC, Low-Odor
Interior Flat Paint
Dunn-Edwards has introduced Acri-Wall,
a professional, zero VOC, low-odor interior flat paint that is ideally suited for
use on new residential, commercial and
multi-tenant housing projects. Acri-Wall
exhibits excellent touch-up and good
hide, and is self-priming on new drywall,
according to the company.
Acri-Wall is available in a tintable
White and in Swiss Coffee, in one-gal-lon and five-gallon containers. It applies
smoothly and easily: the first coat seals
and primes, and the second coat dries to
a smooth, even finish. Because it is low
odor, it can be used in occupied spaces
where lower odor products are preferred.
Like all other Dunn-Edwards latex
products, Acri-Wall is ethylene glycol
(EG)-free and manufactured in an LEED
Gold-certified manufacturing plant.

Zero Plus Interior Latex Enamel is
available in flat, eggshell and semi-gloss
and can be tinted to a wide-range of
colors. Zero Plus can be combined with
Diamond Vogel’s PureColor Zero VOC
Colorant System for a true zero VOC system, exceeding the strongest environmental requirements for VOC.
Hardide Coatings Secures
Grant for New Drilling
Industry Hardfacing Coating
Advanced surface coating specialist Hardide
Coatings has secured a grant of up to
£250,000 under the Technology Strategy
Board’s ‘Smart’ scheme to commercialize a
novel coating that will enable a new generation of hardfacing materials for use on
drilling tool and wear parts for industries including oil and gas, mining and construction.
The ‘development of prototype’ grant
from the U.K.’s innovation agency will
part-fund a two year project to further
develop, manufacture and test a new
Hardide coating for use in a hardfacing
material that will enable drilling tools
and high wear parts to operate at peak
performance in severely abrasive environments where current technologies fail.
