rollouts
Carry on: IntelliTrak introduces the 1500 and 3500 Series overhead conveyor systems. Units in the 1500 Series are capable of handling loads of up to 3,000 pounds
on a double trolley carrier, while 3500 Series models will handle up to 7,000 pounds
per double trolley carrier.
IntelliTrak Systems are reliable and simple in their design. Since they are bolted
together and not welded, they can easily be modified while having little effect on the
existing system. The systems are very clean and quiet, thanks to their driving mechanism, which requires little or no lubrication. They also are easy to maintain, according
to the manufacturer. (IntelliTrak Inc., (800) 616-9304, www.intellitrak.com)

10+ 2 and counting: Cargo Wise edi, a provider
of integrated international supply chain logistics
management systems, has implemented a
new data entry portal to its flagship
ediEnterprise software solution. The new portal
enables importers, customs house brokers,
and forwarders to address the new shipment
documentation issues ( 10+ 2 requirements)
instituted by the U.S. Customs and Border
Protection (CBP) agency’s Secure Freight initiative. The new requirements are intended to further enhance import and export laws for
increased global supply chain safety.
The new Importer Security Filing (ISF) 10+ 2
requirements move up the time frame companies have to report detailed shipping manifest
information to Customs. With ISF, data reporting will require importers to redeploy internal
resources and/or reconfigure their computer
systems to accurately collect and report the
new data to Customs. As a licensed U.S. CBP
service provider, Cargo Wise edi says it is dedicated to providing a platform that will enable
customs brokers to meet the new regulations
efficiently and effectively for customers.

Analyze this: Activant Solutions Inc. has introduced its next generation of business analytics,
Activant Business Analyzer. The Activant
Business Analyzer solution includes features
and functionality that provide distributors with
greater insight into their businesses. For
starters, it’s faster. Queries return results more
quickly and databases are now more compact
and take less time to build. It’s also easier to
customize. Distributors can produce charts and
tables for specific users and roles, and users
can also produce their own custom reports.
In previous generations of executive information systems from Activant, a user was limited to a single report on the screen. With the
Activant Business Analyzer product, the user
can have multiple tabs that can be built and
modified to show information based on how a
company wants to see it. The graphs and charting functionality is much improved.
In addition to allowing the viewing of multiple reports at the same time, the Activant
Business Analyzer solution lets users set up
flags that warn them when performance indicators are headed south. This makes it far
easier to get important information into the
hands of those who need it. Reports can be
e-mailed directly from the application. Reports
can also be set to run on a variety of different
scheduling options and then distributed automatically to individuals who need the data.
