A new “sort” of thinking: HK Systems introduces
the MB-100 Multi-Belt Sorter for mid-range sortation. The device is specifically designed to handle
and sort a variety of products into high-density after-sort divert lanes or work stations. MB-100 sortation
rates can exceed 100 packages per minute for
packages ranging from 6 to 36 inches in length and
weighing up to 75 pounds. The sorter’s modular
design allows users to relocate the 90-degree transfers and 30-degree diverts when product sizes or
field situations change.
The MB-100 is best integrated into applications
involving pre-sorting, value-added stations, kitting,
pre-shipping, and shipping. It is optimal for industries like food and beverage, media,
retail, postal, wine and spirits, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, according to the
manufacturer. (HK Systems, www.hksystems.com)

industries or other applications, galvanized and stainless steel jacks are available.
Models in the expanded line include straddle jacks, high-rise scissor jacks, low-pro-file jacks, and weigh scale jacks.
Clark pallet jacks feature fully serviceable pumps, heavy-duty steel frames, and
fully adjustable push rods. Options include automotive brake attachments, load back

Paperless trade: FedEx has launched Electronic
Trade Documents (ETD), a solution that allows
shippers to upload their international shipment documentation electronically. Activated across multiple
automated shipping systems, ETD helps customers
save time and money while reducing their carbon
footprint. ETD can also be used with FedEx Ground
international shipments to and from Canada.
The new solution automates the preparation
and flow of international documents, which
ensures customers’ international shipment documentation arrives earlier for broker review and
streamlines customs clearance by providing
more time to identify and resolve any paperwork
errors. ETD also eliminates the need for manual
paperwork, thereby reducing the risk of lost,
missing, or damaged paperwork, and promotes
sustainability by reducing paper waste.
One of ETD’s unique features is the ability for
customers to upload their own trade documents,
the carrier says. The solution also allows customers to upload company letterhead and signature images to trade documents created
online from FedEx tools and templates. (FedEx
Corp., www.fedex.com)
Core score: TransCore has added new carrier
tools, including a driver pay management feature, to the latest version of its transportation
management software, TransCore Logistics
Software 4.0. The carrier module enables freight
brokers and third-party logistics service providers
(3PLs) to manage their own trucks or drivers as
well as those leased to them.
With the new module, Logistics Software provides profitability analyses for drivers who are
either employees or owner-operators in brokered, company-owned, and leased-on trucks.
