Misting fans: Big Ass Fan Co.’s AirGo and Yellow Jacket fans are now available with high-pressure, filtered misting systems. The company says the misting option produces a cooling effect equivalent to 22 tons and 11 tons, respectively, of air conditioning at a fraction of the cost. Another benefit of the fans over air conditioning, according to the company, is that they can be moved to where they are needed.

The new systems feature an ultra-fine atomized mist that absorbs heat in the air.

Powerful tuggers: Crown Equipment Corp.’s new TR 4500 Series tuggers allow operators to tow a rolling load capacity of 10,000 pounds.

Crown designed the drive unit of its TR 4500 Series vehicles to endure the constant jerks, jolts, and other demands placed on tuggers operating in high-throughput warehousing environments, according to the company. Crown says the vehicles’ AC drive motor is the largest in the industry and provides high torque and great draw-bar pull. Crown’s e-GEN braking system uses the powerful torque of the AC motor to deliver frictionless braking for long life and trouble-free operation.

To create a durable frame, Crown used a combination of heavy-gauge steel and structural enhancements at the greatest points of stress. The vehicles also have steel power-unit doors to protect their internal components. For increased durability, the Crown TR 4500 Series vehicles also feature a 13-inch drive tire. According to Crown, this feature extends the tuggers’ run time compared with other brands’ 10-inch tires.

The Crown TR 4500 Series also offers ergonomic features. The vehicles’ electronic power steering system eliminates awkward body movements that can contribute to operator fatigue and stress, says the company.
