NEWS FROM THE CONFERENCE AND TRADESHOW CIRCUIT roadtrip
You say you want
a revolution?
Is it time to revolutionize the way you power your supply chain? T. Boone
Pickens certainly thinks so. In a presentation at the Council of Supply Chain
Management Professionals’ Annual Global Conference in Atlanta, the legendary energy exec will make the case for running truck fleets on domestically
sourced natural gas instead of foreign oil.
Revolutionary ideas will also be highlighted in the opening keynote address,
when Arthur Blank, co-founder of The Home Depot, will explain how he created the world’s largest home-improvement retailer and radically changed the
retail supply chain. Blank will share the stage with Shahid Khan, a Pakistani
immigrant who worked his way up from washing dishes to owning Flex-N-Gate
Corp., a $3 billion supplier to the automotive industry.
Attendees may discover their own revolutionary ideas in one of the many
breakout sessions in 20 different tracks, or at the Supply Chain of the Future
exhibition of cutting-edge systems, technologies, and equipment.
The conference will take place Sept. 30–Oct. 3. For more information, visit

Dematic, the material handling and automation specialist, hopes its lineup of more than
60 educational sessions, keynote addresses, tours, and networking events will have
logistics professionals “rockin’ down the highway” to Park City, Utah, for its Annual
Material Handling and Logistics Conference. Scheduled for Sept. 9–12, the event
will feature addresses by billionaire Steve Forbes and Fox News’s Stuart Varney; case
studies from companies like Walgreens and Lowes; and sessions on risk management,
predictive analytics, worker-centric DCs, and more.
Attendees will also have a chance to get an up-close look at innovative technology
and equipment. Armed with their newfound knowledge, they may find themselves
“takin’ it to the streets” to create “a brighter day” in their own operations.
