Tilt truck: The new Poly-Trux P-405 extra heavy-duty tilt truck
from Meese Orbitron Dunne Co. can handle loads of up to 2,200
pounds and one cubic yard in capacity. This heavy-duty tilt truck
is suitable for collecting and moving construction and demolition
debris, bagged refuse, recyclables, office waste, scrap, and other
materials, according to the manufacturer.
The truck combines the company’s proprietary internal rib
design, a hidden steel tube
support frame, and one-piece
rotationally molded construction. It has a powder-coated
steel base with 12- by 3-inch
rear wheels and 5- by 2-inch
swiveling casters.
The P-405 extra heavy-duty
waste-handling cart is molded from 100-percent waterproof
polyethylene (HDPE) and comes standard in gray. Custom colors,

Energy-efficient electric drives: Lenze Americas, a manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, has created a solution
package that helps companies design energy-efficient electric
drive systems for material handling equipment.
The Energy Efficient Solution Package takes into account the
entire drive system and specifies the right size motor drive and
control components. According to Lenze, the solution can
reduce energy consumption by up to 30 percent.
The solution consists of drive solution design (DSD) software,
a multiple-frequency (MF) gear motor, and the 8400 motec
inverter drive with VFC eco mode.
The design process starts with Lenze DSD software, which tailors the drive system specifically to the application requirements.
DSD prevents the common problem of over-dimensioning of
motors and inverter control and regulation of the drive systems.
Projected energy consumption is recorded in an Energy
Performance Certificate.
The DSD can be used to select drive packages with multiple-frequency motors, which provide a wide range of speeds and a
high degree of efficiency, according to Lenze. The advantages of
these motors become even greater in drive packages with gear-boxes and frequency inverters. The Lenze 8400 motec inverter
drive offers an eco energy-saving function for optimizing energy
in no-load and partial load operation. The 8400 motec inverter
features the innovative energy-saving function VFC eco (Voltage
