Warehouse optimization scheduler: Transportation|Warehouse
Optimization (T|WO) has released its new AutoScheduler, which
provides prescriptive analytics for warehouse and campus operations. AutoScheduler is a capacity-constrained finite scheduling
genius that takes into account all factors to plan minute-by-minute
activities to support on-time shipping from a single warehouse or a
campus of operations. By synthesizing data from multiple systems
(ERP, production scheduling, YMS, and WMS), AutoScheduler
determines the best actions to take and then instructs the WMS to
execute the decisions. (Transportation|Warehouse Optimization,

Stepper module: Karl E. Brinkmann GmbH subsidiary KEB
America has released the C6 I/O EtherCAT Stepper module, the
newest entry in KEB’s popular C6 line of automation products.
KEB’s remote I/O system is easily expandable with snap-in modules and communicates via an EtherCAT backbone. This allows
for cost-effective real-time communication.
Used as a remote terminal, KEB’s stepper module is designed
to actuate a stepper or brushless DC motor with incremental
encoder. It features five digital inputs to be used with limit stops,
a reference switch, or similar signals. A digital output is also available for a holding brake or similar device.
The drive module is compliant to the CiA 402 standard and
allows the following drive modes: stepper motor (open or closed-loop mode), brushless DC motor, profile position, velocity, profile
velocity, profile torque, homing, and cyclic synchronous (
position, velocity, or torque mode). The module is cULus listed. (KEB

Pallet truck with integrated
scale: The latest integrated scale
hand pallet truck from Lift-Rite
is ideally suited for high-volume delivery, distribution, and
pharmaceutical applications, the
company says. This new legal-for-trade (LFT) hand pallet truck
provides a low-cost opportunity
to make warehouse and delivery operations more flexible. The
truck is convenient to move between docks to avoid congestion
and provides a quick backup should a facility’s in-floor scale
require maintenance.
The scale truck achieves LFT status by using a total of four certified load cells to generate data with a percentage of error of just
1 pound for loads of up to 3,000 pounds and 2 pounds for loads
weighing between 3,000 and 5,000 pounds. In addition, the
truck can provide a thermal on-board printer, a quick lift pump,
and exchangeable/rechargeable battery. Functions include gross
net weighing, automatic and manual tare, totaling with sequence
of loads, and piece counting. (Lift Rite, www.liftrite.com)
Loading dock door installation: Entrematic has introduced the
Serco Rapid Install, a faster-track installation system for vertical
lift commercial door applications.
Designed specifically for commercial warehouse and dock
doors, the Serco Rapid Install for vertical lift commercial doors
uses quality standard Serco 2-inch or 1-3/8-inch steel sections
and a simplified track and hardware configuration. Tested to
more than 10,000 cycles to ensure long-term performance, the
Rapid Install system also uses a durable, heavy .063-gauge one-piece track. Self-lubricating nylon rollers and wide body hinges
are standard hardware that’s provided as part of the package.
Fewer wall anchors are required due to the Rapid Install system’s simplified hardware configuration features. That alone
reduces the amount of drilling required. The one-piece vertical lift
track also features an integrated end bearing plate, which means
less assembly at the job site. The heavy .063 gauge one-piece
track is available for doors measuring up to nine feet, two inches
wide and 10 feet tall.
The Rapid Install system is available on all Serco steel sectional
doors with standard 2-inch track or an upgrade to 3-inch track
for heavy-duty applications. (Serco, www.sercoentrematic.com)
Manufacturing robots: Addressing the need for higher-capacity
robots to meet the demands of today’s advanced automated
manufacturing processes, Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc. has
introduced the latest in its line of RV-F Series 6-axis robots with
35-, 50-, and 70-kg (77-, 110-, and 154-pound) payloads.
These new robots extend the Mitsubishi Electric RV-F Series
product line to address applications that require higher payloads
and longer reaches, including large material handling and assembly applications. The new RV-35F, RV-50F, and RV-70F robots are
well suited to the automotive, food and beverage, and electronic
manufacturing industries, the company says.
Key benefits of the RV-35F, RV-50F, and RV-70F robots include
a long reach arm and seamless integration with the Mitsubishi
Electric Factory Automation (MELFA) hardware ecosystem.
They are available in multiple environmental protection ratings.
