Mobile weighing solution: Hy-Dynamix has launched a new
mobile freight container weighing solution called Hy-Weigh,
which gives digital readouts within 10 minutes at the point of
packing.
The system can weigh containers up to 35 tonnes ( 38. 58
tons) and uses four corner hydraulic elevation jacks, raising the
container in situ and displaying the weight in increments of 50
kilograms (110 pounds) via a digital readout.
Designed by engineers at Hy-Dynamix’s parent company,
Dyer Engineering, which has a 40-year pedigree in the sector,
Hy-Weigh is self-contained on its own specially designed pallet,
and its control panel allows for individual corner raising and
lowering. It was designed to be simple, easy to use, and reliable,
with no complex software or electronics. Hy-Weigh removes
the need for dedicated container craneage weighing systems or
weighbridges and is easily deployed and moved around a facility.
The Hy-Weigh system was developed in house as part of a
range of products to facilitate the moving of containers. Its sister
product Hy-Lifter elevates the container and allows skating systems to be attached to the underside to allow easy movement of a
container around a facility. (Hy-Dynamix, www.hy-dynamix.com)
Pneumatic hoists: JD Neuhaus has developed
its Profi TI range of air-operated hoists to be versatile and reliable following installations within
a wide range of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty industrial workplaces. The hoists were engineered for extremes and can be safely operated
even where hazardous working environments
exist, the company says. Their compressed air
supply, utilized for both power and control
functions, does not initiate sparks, which provides an advantage when hoists are operating in potentially
explosive atmospheres. Even greater safety can be achieved by
the prevention of sparks generated by static discharges or met-al-to-metal friction contacts. (JD Neuhaus, www.jdngroup.com)
DC voltage converters: Analytic Systems has introduced the
VCH10 series of step-down DC-DC voltage converters. These
high-frequency switching buck converters can convert up to 80
volts DC down to a variety of lesser voltages including 12, 24, 28,
32, 36, and 48 volts DC, each with a 10-amp output capability.
Units in the VCH 10 step-down voltage converter series are
suitable for use in the automotive, heavy equipment, marine,
industrial, rail, and alternative energy environments. The VCH 10
series replaces the VTC90 series.
The VCH10W takes the same compact and robust circuitry and
packages it in an IP66-rated watertight and EMC-shielded enclosure for use in rugged environments. The standard connection is
a single pigtail cable fitted with an automotive style Deutsch connector, with alternate connections available by special request.
The VCH10W series replaces the VTC70 series.
The VCH10MW also uses the IP66-rated watertight and
EMC-shielded enclosure, and adds a pair of 3-pin MS3102 MIL
connectors for input and output connections, with alternate MIL
connectors available by special request. The VCH10MW series
replaces the VTC70MS series.
All versions of the VCH10 are available in both standard leaded
manufacture and RoHS lead-free manufacture for the EU marketplace. (Analytic Systems, www.analyticsystems.com)
Hydraulic fluid inspection kit: Spectroline’s SafetyBlu (SB-
450) Blue Light Inspection Kit is designed to help find expensive
hydraulic system leaks as well as detect and prevent dangerous
injection injuries, thereby saving companies money.
When used in conjunction with the company’s FluidSafe
fluorescent additive, the SB-450 kit, which features a portable
high-intensity blue-light (450 nm) LED flashlight, is successful
in pinpointing the smallest fluid leaks in hydraulic system hoses,
fittings, seals, and other components. This allows tiny leaks to be
repaired before they lead to big catastrophic failures. Not only can
SafetyBlu help prevent the unexpected, it can lower anticipated
operating costs by reducing hydraulic fluid consumption by up
to 7 percent of a company’s total annual hydraulic fluid budget.
When added to the reservoirs of hydraulic machinery, FluidSafe
aids in the detection and surgical removal of hydraulic fluid in
the event of an accidental fluid injection that penetrates the skin.
When viewed under the SafetyBlu lamp’s high-intensity blue
light, the additive’s bright green fluorescent glow pinpoints the
injection track quickly and accurately. This allows medical personnel to confirm whether a penetration actually occurred, and if so,
to precisely determine the extent of the injury.
The lamp features a rugged anodized aluminum body, which
reduces corrosion and stands up to years of heavy use.
In addition to the SafetyBlu flashlight, the SB-450 kit comes
complete with smart AC and DC chargers, yellow fluores-cence-enhancing glasses, a protective rubber bumper, and a belt
holster. All components are packed in a padded carrying case.
