Looking ahead to 2018, Dematic will continue to expand capabilities and solution sets
with a focus on designing modular, scalable and flexible intra-logistics systems for your
operations. Here are some examples of how Dematic order fulfillment and automated
material handing systems can help your company gain efficiencies, expand functionality,
improve performance and thrive in this era of acceleration and disruption.
Operational Excellence — As a system integrator and solution provider, our approach
is centered on achieving operational excellence for each Dematic customer, in both
production and distribution environments. It is all about engineering solutions that
respond to your operational issues: shortage of labor and space, growth of slow moving
inventory, fluctuations in order volume, processing time, and effectively accommodating
multiple distribution channels to market.
Omni-channel — Dematic continues to support omni-channel strategies. For example,
the Dematic Goods-to-Person Piece Pick Solution can process orders accurately/
efficiently for multiple channels while sharing the same inventory and labor pool, thus
reducing your company’s order fulfillment costs.
Warehouse Execution System (WES) — In the era of the industrial internet of things,
Dematic iQ WES software can optimize and synchronize workflows more effectively. For
example, the Dematic iQ WES receives extensive real time data about the current state
of all the processes in the warehouse. Software optimization algorithms continuously
assess the orders to be filled, the resources available, and the inventory to dynamically
adjust workflows. The results: you can drop in orders at the last minute, reduce
fulfillment time, and extend order cut off time.
Robotic Picking — Dematic robotic solutions can automate the most labor intensive,
repetitive tasks such as piece picking. “Goods-to-robot” piece picking systems are
available today for a specific range of product types, dimensions, weights, and sizes.
Like “goods-to-person” picking, the SKU totes are delivered to the robot for piece
picking. The robot picks and places items to an order container. This solution reduces
labor costs, picks faster, and can scale up for peak season as the robots operate on
multiple shifts and weekends, omitting the need for temporary staff.
As always, we are dedicated to improving the effectiveness of your receiving-to-shipping
operation. We welcome the opportunity to design, build and implement an automated
material handling solution for your new or existing operation.
