Automatic bagger: Pac Machinery, a manufacturer of equipment and materials that are
used in the flexible packaging industry, has
unveiled its new large-format Rollbag R3200XL
automatic bagger. This innovative bagger features a sleek, compact design and is engineered
to provide an exceptional e-commerce packaging solution—even in punishing industrial
environments, the company says.
The R3200XL bagger can be used with pre-opened bags on a roll or be configured with an
optional bag maker that uses poly tubing. The
bagger can operate at speeds of up to 80 bags
per minute using Rollbag brand pre-opened
bags on a roll. It is able to accommodate poly
bags as large as 22 by 36 inches, according to
the manufacturer.
Suitable for single and multiline applications,
the Rollbag R3200XL can be equipped with
a wide range of feeding systems, including
scales, bowl feeders, counters, and robotics,
all designed to streamline the e-commerce
poly-bagging process. An optional TwinPrint
dual-side label printer applicator enables direct
bag printing and application, eliminating the
need to apply a separate printed label.
Versions of the Rollbag R3200XL bagger
are available in stainless steel for food and
medical-device applications, while validatable
versions are offered for medical-device packaging. (Pac Machinery, www.pacmachinery.com)
Material handling loaders: Load-handling
equipment manufacturer Hiab has introduced
two loaders—the Hiab J14S and J24S—to the
U.S. market. With maximum lifting capacities
of 9,260 pounds and 12,570 pounds, respectively, the Hiab J14S and Hiab J24S both belong
to the company’s heavy material handling line.
A key differentiator between the new loaders and traditional U.S. A-frame loaders lies in
the vehicles’ basic construction, according to
the company. Hiab says its engineers chose
the column design basis in order to broaden
installation options and to enable a more flexible stabilizer system. This contributes to the
loaders’ stability and thereby enhances safety.
Other safety-enhancing options include a one-hit button that stops operation in case of an
emergency, an overload protection system, and
load-holding valves.
For all their strength, the loaders themselves
are light in weight and engineered for an optimal weight-to-capacity ratio, Hiab says. This
allows for greater agility and higher payloads,
while also contributing to a longer service life.
Hiab J14S and Hiab J24S loaders are treated
with the company’s “nDurance” coating to
resist corrosion and protect against minor physical damage. (Hiab, www.hiab.com)

Customizable shipping racks: Steel King Industries Inc., a manufacturer of
material handling products and systems for improving operational efficiency, has
introduced a diverse line of highly customizable shipping racks designed to reduce
damage and loss when shipping fragile vehicle parts for final vehicle assembly.
Steel King’s custom shipping racks help users “cube out” a trailer, maximizing
the number of parts that can be handled in each truckload and thereby reducing
freight costs.
The company offers in-house engineering, design, prototyping, laser/plasma
cutting, welding, powder coating, and assembling services. Starting with the
part or prototype, design experts use a unique process to develop a completely
customized application-specific solution to ensure products are handled delicately
and not scratched, dented, or broken. Transport/custom product rack options are
available for bumper fascia and front ends, doors, driveshafts and axles, engines,
fairing, fenders, front assembly, headliners, and hood racks. Also available are
racks for industrial carts, kits, metal stampings, muffler exhausts, and tires. (Steel

Versatile tilt tables: Material handling and ergonomic equipment manufacturer
Verti-Lift has introduced floor-level 90-degree tilt tables with removable forks.
These are ideal for any manufacturing or assembly application where the process
requires work in the horizontal and vertical positions, the company says. With the
flexibility of removable forks while in the horizontal position and a range of 0 to
90 degrees, workers are allowed 360-degree access to the product while in the
horizontal position, while the vertical position allows access to manufacturing and
assembly processes in difficult-to-reach areas.
Removable forks allow pallet jack or fork truck loading or unloading in the
vertical position. Forks are suitable for applications where components (feet or
wheels) need to be installed on a product’s base. (Verti-Lift, www.verti-lift.com)
