Parcel-tracking solution: Descartes Systems Group has introduced the Descartes Core Unit Load Device (ULD) Tracking
solution to automatically monitor the real-time location of international mail, parcel, and cargo shipments while they are in the
air and on the ground.
A next-generation Bluetooth-enabled solution, Descartes Core
ULD Tracking is designed to help air carriers automate freight
tracking, increase operating efficiency, and improve asset man-
agement by providing real-time visibility into the location of
shipments bundled into a single ULD container. Using mobile
technology, carriers scan Bluetooth tags affixed to ULDs prior to
loading. They can then access accurate ULD location informa-
tion and other data—such as precise temperature, movement
(e.g., shock, acceleration, and orientation), humidity, light, and
smoke—in real time via the Descartes Core Bluetooth Low Energy
(BLE) network, part of the Descartes Global Logistics Network.
Tags can also be added to any ground-service equipment for

Bill-tracking software: Miwatec LLC has introduced Load Traxx,
a new tracking, compliance, payroll, and billing software platform for the short-haul trucking industry. The software combines
a load-tracking app for truckers and an online dashboard for
administrative and trucking departments to create an efficient
tracking and invoicing platform that solves an all-too-common
problem: lost revenue due to messy and missing paperwork.
The Load Traxx app allows short-haul truck drivers to log their
materials, enter load weights, select loading and unloading locations, and more. Drivers simply submit their daily haul summa-ries—complete with truck mileage, fuel receipts, and pit tickets—
to the dashboard without having to drop off physical copies. The
data is synced in real time to the administrative department’s fully
customizable online dashboard. Reports are automatically generated for use by billing, payroll, fuel-tax, and other departments.
