Order verifier: To
help manage requirements associated with
the 2013 Drug Supply
Chain Security Act, SSI
Schaefer has developed the first automated solution to verify
and document orders
prior to shipping. The
SSI Order Verifier identifies, counts, verifies,
photographs, and documents all of the products in an order in one integrated process.
According to SSI Schaefer, the Order Verifier
is a cost-efficient automated order verification
solution to handle split-case orders. The system has a throughput of up to 6,000 items
per hour and simultaneous photographic
documentation.
It works as follows: First, incoming order
totes are automatically unloaded onto a
conveyor, where the items from the totes
are separated and singulated using a system
of variable-speed conveyors. At an adjacent
reading station, the individual articles are
scanned and photographically documented.
The system recognizes 1-D bar codes and/or
2-D data matrix codes, as well as RFID signals.
The articles are then batched together again
to consolidate the order for shipping.
The system automatically reconciles items
for customer orders before shipping. In addition, any “no-read” products are separated to
reduce the manual check times. For example,
only wrong products require checking; there
is no need to manually rescan the entire order

Dimensional weight measurement tool:
Size-IT from ADSI is a wireless mobile tool
that measures and calculates dim weights.
Size-IT digitally captures the length, width,
and height of a package, auto-calculates
the dimensional weight for both domestic
and international shipments, and wirelessly
transfers dimension calculations and package
details to your shipping system.
ADSI says the tool will reduce the amount
of time that workers spend measuring and
calculating dimensional weights for shipping,
improve accuracy, and eliminate unexpected carrier charges. The company adds that
the tool is simple to learn and integrates

Document applicator: Inther’s new automated document applicator (ADA) is a
machine that fully automates the process of applying documents to the exterior
of a box.
ADA can print documents up to four pages long, buffer them, and then fold and
apply them to boxes with a foil. Both the size of the box and the position on which
the document should be attached can vary constantly. ADA always ensures that the
right document is applied to the right box.
