ETAaaS service: Savi Technology has introduced its Estimated Time of Arrival-as-a-Service (ETAaaS) to deliver predictive and prescriptive supply chain analytics that
provide the most accurate ETA.
Through the combination of big data transportation analytics and machine
learning, ETAaaS will provide complete supply chain transparency with real-time
operational intelligence that provides accurate shipment ETA forecasts.
The service features real-time tracking and visibility that allows real-time shipment
location and adjusts ETA by considering historical patterns of disruption caused by
weather, port congestion, and other factors. (Savi Technology, www.savi.com)
Custom carts: Creform Corp. says its custom-izable carts can provide a solution for operations that handle irregular and hard-to-handle
parts. To illustrate its customization capabilities, the company offers the example of a
saddle cart it developed for an automotive
manufacturer that needed to hold and deliver
irregular and contoured parts such as flexible
rubber and sheet good parts, wire harnesses,
and weather stripping.
The cart (pictured here)
features two “levels”: an
upper level to hold the
top of the part, and a
lower level to hold the
corresponding bottom of
the part. These surfaces
are wide so that parts can
be spread out to avoid
tangling and to improve
picking efficiency.
Each shelf of the cart features a 1/4-inch
black corrugated surface bent to create a
curve shelf. This surface is supported with
antistatic 28 mm Creform pipe and joints that
are part of the structure, with angle bracing
for additional strength and rigidity.
The cart’s open design makes all levels visible, enhances visual inventory management,
and improves safety during movement. The
cart is supported by four six-inch diameter
casters for easy rolling, two of which are swivel. The cart shown can hold up to 300 pounds
and measures 50 inches long by 60 inches
high by 36 inches wide, but saddle carts can
be configured to custom dimensions.
Creform says the saddle cart can be engineered to meet a variety of manufacturing
applications in a range of industries. (Creform

Shipment-tracking website: American
Airlines Cargo has introduced enhanced air
waybill tracking functionalities on its website.
Developed to increase visibility into the entire
shipping process and offer a more customized
experience, the enhanced tracking capabilities
will improve shipment visibility for all customers from booking to delivery, the airline says.
The enhanced features include live “
at-a-glance” status updates via color-coded progress bars; detailed flight, air waybill, and
customs information; simple access and navigation to shipping history; and added sorting
and viewing capabilities for logged-in users.
Logged-in users can also sort their shipments by origin and destination, which allows
them to quickly simplify and consolidate the
info displayed on their screens. (American
