Robot monitoring software: ABB Robotics has launched SafeMove2, the latest
generation of its safety-certified robot monitoring software. SafeMove2 delivers
greater flexibility, space savings, and cutting-edge commissioning tools for greater
productivity at a lower total investment cost, the company says.
Like the original SafeMove, first introduced in 2008, SafeMove2 includes a host
of safety functions, including safe speed limits, safe standstill monitoring, safe axis
ranges, and position and orientation supervision. The new-generation functionality
encourages the development of innovative robot applications by integrating safety
features directly into the robot controller. (ABB Robotics, www.abb.us/robotics)
Io T access points: Zebra Technologies Corp.
has introduced two new access points (Aps)
that offer greater network performance,
stronger customer engagement, and Internet
of Things (IoT) support for organizations in
industries such as retail, hospitality, health
care, transportation and logistics, and manufacturing. By embedding dedicated sensors that collect data across the entire network, the new enterprise-class AP8432 and
AP8533 access points offer “Visibility that’s
Visionary,” delivering actionable insights and
secure connections in a cost-effective way.
The AP8432 and AP8533 include Zebra’s
Triple Sensor Technology, which is designed
to automatically ward off RF interference and
security risks, push relevant contextual offers
and services to consumers, and provide stra-tegic-shaping analytics. Zebra’s Triple Sensor
Technology system is composed of three
integrated powerful sensors, a dedicated network sensor, a Bluetooth sensor, and an RF
spectrum sensor. (Zebra Technologies, www.

Basic lift truck: The Hyster-Yale Group has
introduced its Utilev line of lift trucks, which
are designed for customers who need a lift
truck for intermittent use throughout the
day or week. When compared with a used or
refurbished lift truck, Utilev trucks are a bet-ter-value choice and deliver the performance
and dependability found in a new
truck, the company
says.
Utilev is for users
who do not require
advanced functionality or specialty attachments in
their material handling applications.
The truck’s simple,
straightforward design makes it easy to operate and maintain, and the vehicle comes
backed by a standard 12 months/2,000 hours
manufacturer’s limited warranty. In addition,
the trucks are supported by an extensive
network of more than 340 dealer locations
throughout North America.
Utilev trucks are suitable for numerous
industries and applications, such as third-party rental, wholesale/distribution, farm and
agriculture, nurseries and landscaping, medi-um- and light-duty manufacturing, and retail
stores. A range of models, standard features,
and options help to ensure that the truck is
configured to the needs of the application.
