Coatings offers the Trendcast program,
which offers the latest trends in colors,
effects and textures for a variety of markets, industries and products. The
Trendcast kit was developed by the PPG
Global Color Styling Team, which works
closely with color and design organizations to drive and monitor emerging
trends. Using tools in the Trendcast kit,
PPG color stylists help manufacturers to
choose colors, textures and other special
effects that will achieve particular marketing and manufacturing objectives.
The latest PPG products for wood
flooring include Easy-Clean UV Topcoat,
Anti-Scratch UV Topcoat and Anti-Slip
Topcoat.
TREMCO ACQUIRES CANAM
BUILDING ENVELOPE SPECIALISTS
RPM’s subsidiary, Tremco Incorporated,
has acquired Canam Building Envelope
Specialists Inc. (Canam), including its
Zerodraft weatherproofing division.
Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
and with annual sales of approximately
$6 million, Canam will become part of
the Tremco Roofing and Building
Maintenance Division’s subsidiary,
Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.
(WTI), while Zerodraft will join
Tremco’s Commercial Sealants and
Waterproofing Division.
The term “building envelope” typically refers to the exterior surface of a
building’s construction—the foundation, roof, walls, windows and everything that connects them together—
including all aspects of the building’s
exterior design that impact energy
costs. Canam’s consulting and contracting services business focuses on
evaluating the energy efficiency of
building envelopes and reducing energy costs through better air sealing and
Valspar teams up with Chicago Cubs
As a sponsor of Wrigley Field for the 2009 season,
Valspar unveiled the newly painted Wrigley Field
Marquee and Scoreboard at the Cubs’ first home game of
the season. The paint firm created three limited-edition
colors for the Chicago Cubs—Pinstripe Blue, Marquee
Red and Ivy Green—and will be available to consumers
beginning June 1st.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have our scoreboard and
marquee look better than ever for the 2009 season,” said
Matt Wszolek, director of sales and promotions, Chicago
Cubs. “Not only is Valspar helping us keep Wrigley beautiful, they’re reaching out to our fans as well. We’re proud that
for the first time Valspar is offering our fans the chance to
incorporate Wrigley Field spirit into their homes with
Valspar’s new limited-edition colors.”
Valspar’s sponsorship also includes interactive games for
fans, announcements and signage during the 81 home
games, as well as advertisements in the Cubs Official
Scorecard throughout the 2009 season.
