PPG launches Audioguard acoustical coatings
PPG Commercial Coatings has introduced Audioguard, a waterborne, spray-applied coating that provides vibration
dampening and reduces vehicle noise.

Innovation, Audioguard offers commercial OEM body builders a solution for
structural vibration and noise reduction in cabs, under hoods, inside wheel
wells and on interior panels.
“Audioguard is made of a proprietary
combination of laminar, fiber and resin
that hardens into a tough coating material,” said Dave Chapman, marketing
director, PPG Commercial Coatings.
“Because it’s waterborne, it’s a zero-VOC product and a very ecologically
sound way to address vehicle noise and
vibration issues.”
According to Chapman, Audioguard
is particularly suited for fire and emergency equipment applications, as it
reduces siren and road noise and provides patients and EMTs with a lower-decibel interior environment. It is also
effective in numerous other noise and
vibration reduction applications.
Audioguard can be applied by spraying
onto exposed surfaces and into restricted areas by spray wands.

Ceilcoate 600HB Flakeline was developed to help tanks and process vessels
become more cost-effective, providing
long lasting corrosion protection that is
easier to install, requiring fewer man
hours to apply. This reduces downtime

Designed to be spray-applied in a single coat at a thickness of 30-50+ mils
DFT, often without a primer, Ceilcote
600HB Flakeline saves on application
costs, providing labor savings as well as
a reduction in time to install the polymer material. Ceilcote 600HB Flakeline
also eliminates the potential for inter-coat adhesion problems compared with
multiple coat or trowel-applied systems.

has introduced Ceilcoate 600HB
Flakeline, a two-component, high build,
glass flake reinforced epoxy system that
provides improved chemical resistance
to alkalis, inorganic acids and many
testing (ASTM E-514) for wind-driven
rain up to 124-mph. As a result, the
sealant helps eliminate the damage and
decay caused by moisture penetration.
As a topcoat, Stucco-Guard provides a
non-yellowing, breathable finish that
prevents color bleed and premature
