International Paint promotes Jones to VP
International Paint has recently promoted Eifion Jones
to vice president,
Gulf and Mexico
protective coatings.
In his new role,
Jones will have
management responsibilities for
the sales and engineering teams servicing protective
coatings customers throughout the Gulf
and Mexico regions, with particular
emphasis on the oil and gas industry.
Prior to his promotion, Jones served as
International Paint Protective
Coatings’ vice president of finance and
administration for two years, with additional responsibilities in commercial
and acquisitions. Prior to that, he
served in the fibers division of
AkzoNobel for eight years.

AKZONOBEL APPOINTS
NEW GENERAL COUNSEL
AkzoNobel has announced Jan Karel
van der Staay, general counsel, will
leave the company at the end of the
year and will be succeeded by Sven
Dumoulin, currently group secretary of
Unilever. Before joining Unilver,
Dumoulin worked as a lawyer with a
leading Dutch law firm and held professorships in international company law
and corporate law. He was also an advisory member of the Dutch Corporate
Goverance Code Committee.
LUBRIZOL APPOINTS NEW
STRATEGIC ACCOUNT MANAGER
Lubrizol Advanced Materials has
appointed March Ruch strategic
account manager for the paints, coatings and adhesives business in its
performance coatings product line. In
his new position, Ruch will be
responsible for the territory in the
northeastern U.S., where he will lead
the Lubrizol sales team, helping
manage the needs of direct customers as well as distributors and
agents. Ruch brings nearly 20 years
of sales and management experience
to the Lubrizol team, with expertise
in the printing, packaging and related industries.
ALBERDINGK BOLEY APPOINTS
NEW VP SALES AND MARKETING
Yasmin Sayed-Sweet has been promoted to vice president sales and marketing for Alberdingk Boley, Inc USA.
Sayed-Sweet joined Alberdingk Boley
as strategic business director in
September 2005. She has more than 15
years of experience in the paint and
coatings industry and was the president
of FSCT. She will be responsible for
leading the U.S. sales team.
CORPORATE DIRECTOR CONTROL
TO LEAVE AKZONOBEL
AkzoNobel has announced that
Martin Potter, corporate director control, will leave AkzoNobel at the end
of September this year. Over a period
of 35 years Martin has pursued a
successful international career in a
series of financial roles. Martin has
most recently played an important
leadership role in the company’s
transformation. The successful merger of the Group Control and
Reporting teams in 2007 was followed by the prompt integration of
the corporate ICI activities in the
summer of 2008.

Univar Europe has made a number of
appointments to its management
team. Gerard Essink, previously
leader for Univar’s Iberian business,
has been promoted to director strategic planning and development. David
Jukes, formerly chief executive of
Distrupol and regional director
Univar UK/Ireland, Nordic, has been
promoted to vice president sales and
marketing EMEA. Nicolas Lehmann,
formerly general manager for Univar
France, has been promoted to vice
president supplier and product management EMEA. Christophe Jacob
has been appointed general manager
for France. Mirko Schnitzler has
been hired as general manager,
Germany, Austria, Switzerland and
Eastern Europe. For Iberia, Claus
Folke Jensen has been appointed
general manager. Nigel Hayes has
been promoted to general manager
for the UK and Ireland.

Azagury, Robert G. Hirsch and

to assist its market development for

for metal, ceramic and rubber manufacturers. As a former president of
polyester business for DuPont Teijin
Films, David E. Azagury has in-depth business management skills
and manufacturing experience to
position Greenkote as a leader in the
coatings industry. Robert G. Hirsch
retired as global managing director
for DuPont’s Intellectual Assets &
Licensing Business in 2004 and is
currently an executive consultant in
licensing and IP commercialization
