Merszei named president of Dow EMEA &
chairman of Dow Europe
The Dow Chemical Company has promoted Geoffery Merszei, executive vice
president and CFO, to a new role as
president of Dow Europe, Middle East
and Africa, while also serving as chairman of Dow Europe, and executive vice
president of The Dow Chemical
Company. Merszei has served as the
company’s CFO for the past five years.
He will relocate to the Company’s
European headquarters in Horgen,
Switzerland. Merszei will also assume
additional responsibility as chair of the
company’s newly established geographic
leadership council. William Weideman,
vice president and controller, will
assume the role of interim CFO while
the company conducts a global search
for a replacement for Merszei.

UNIVAR APPOINTS BRAULT
ENVIRONMENT MANAGER
Univar has appointed Jean-Philippe
Brault environment manager, EMEA.
In his new position, Brault is responsible for all environmental and remediation activities at Univar Europe. He will
be in charge of projects such as corporate complimance environmental audits and the preparation of applications
and support studies relevant for enivro-mental licenses.
MAARIT TASKINEN TO LEAD

Maarit Taskinen has been appointed
commercial director, Tikkurila. Based
in St. Petersburg, Russia, she will be
responsible for sales and marketing for
Tikkurila Deco Russia. Taskinen will
continue with her present duties as
sales director, Tikkurila Deco East,
with responsibility for coordinating the
Tikkurila brand marketing, customer
training and development of tinting
operations.

DUPONT NAMES PERFORMANCE
SERVICES LEADERSHIP TEAM
DuPont today named Steve Aitken and
Steve Trapp to two key positions within
the company’s newly formed, value-added services offering, DuPont Performance Services. Aitken, named collision services sales manager, is a 23-year
DuPont veteran who will manage
DuPont Performance Coatings’ growing
staff of business development managers
(BDM). BDMs are charged with leading
the implementation of the local value-added services efforts. Trapp, named
collision services development manager,
will lead course development activity
and develop performance group content
and consulting materials. He will also
coordinate DuPont executive facilitators, a team of experts responsible for
course instruction.
DUPONT NAMES CEO
ELLEN KULLMAN CHAIR
DuPont’s board of directors has elected
DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman chair, effective December 31. Chad Holliday will
retire from the board after 11 years as
its chairman. As previously announced
in September 2008, Ellen became CEO
effective January 1 after Holliday
served as DuPont’s CEO for ten years.
He continued as chair of the board for a
brief transition until Kullman’s expected succession as chair.
SHERWIN-WILLIAMS NAMES
KADIEN ITS NEW DIRECTOR
Sherwin-Williams has elected Thomas
Kadien to its board of directors. Kadien
is senior vice president of International
Paper Company and president of xpedx,
International Paper’s distribution business. He has been appointed to the audit
