Hempel opens R&D center in Bahrain
Hempel Paints has opened a new regional decorative R&D center in Bahrain.
The state-of-the-art facility at Hempel’s
factory in Mina Salman will be the focal
point of all the company’s decorative
R&D activities in the Middle East. It is
Hempel’s first regional R&D center
focused on the decorative segment. The
new center will act as the research center for all six of Hempel’s manufacturing
facilities in the Middle East (Saudi
Arabia, the United Arab Emirates,
Kuwait, Syria, Qatar and Bahrain). It is
the first Hempel R&D center focused on
the decorative segment, and will help
Hempel grow in the region by developing
products specifically for the Middle
Eastern climate. The decorative R&D
center in Bahrain was opened by CEO
Pierre-Yves Jullien at an inauguration
ceremony on 5 November 5.

HENKEL’S NEW INNOVATIVE
PAINT FINISH SIMULATOR
Henkel has launched Teroson Quick-
Check, a new waterborne paint finish
simulator for refinish repair work.
With Teroson QuickCheck Henkel has
brought the first waterborne paint sim-
ulator to the market that replicates a
refinish coating. It allows for quick and
early identification of any defects, such
as low or high spots, pin holes, straight-
ness of a contour and swage lines. Its
high-gloss finish reveals any imperfec-
tions, which can be highlighted with a
soft pencil before wiping Teroson
QuickCheck away with a waterbased
degreaser, leaving the marked area vis-
ible for the finishing touches. Teroson
QuickCheck is applied directly to cured
body filler before the priming stage.
Even the smallest imperfection in the
surface becomes visible through the
black gloss and can be corrected before
the paint process begins. In this way
any defects are rendered visible before
the priming and final top coat stages.
REICHHOLD OPENS
NEW PLANT IN INDIA
Reichhold launched a new manufactur-
ing facility in India at Ranjangaon, Pune
on October 30th. With 19 manufacturing
sites and four technology centers across
the globe, Reichhold has further
strengthened its global presence with its
entry into the Indian market. The facili-
ty is designed with a planned annual
production capacity of 13,200 metric
tons. Initially, the plant will focus on
manufacturing unsaturated polyester
