pared steel, aluminum, fiber glass,
rigid plastics and plastic fillers.
The DPLV Epoxy Primer can also
be used as a sealer and topcoated
with many of PPG’s two-component urethane undercoats and topcoats. It is compatible with waterborne basecoats as well.
DPLV 2.1 Epoxy Primer is available in
three colors: White DP48LV, Gray DP50LV
and Black DP90LV. These can be blended
to achieve a broad range of gray shades.
Master Bond introduces epoxy-based UV curable UV15 for
bonding and sealing
applications
With its light transmission properties and
optical clarity, Master Bond UV15 is
widely used for a variety of bonding, coating and sealing applications in the optical,
electronic and optoelectronic industries.
This epox- based UV curable system is
100 percent reactive and does not contain
any solvents or other volatiles. It is also
completely free of any oxygen inhibition.
Like most UV systems, Master Bond
UV15 will cure quickly and easily when
exposed to a UV light source with a wave-
length range between 320-365 nm. It typ-
ically cures in thicknesses of a few mi-
crons to 0.015-0.020 inches in 15-30 sec-
onds or less. UV15 cures by a cationic
reaction and produces bonds that have
lower shrinkage (1-2%) and higher tem-
perature resistance than most UV systems.
Its glass transition temperature (Tg) is 90-
95°C with a straight UV cure. When post
cured for 30 minutes at 125°C, the Tg is
125-130°C. The service temperature range
for this system is - 80°F to +350°F.
Mereco introduces Metaduct
1245, an epoxy electrically
conductive ultra-fast curing
adhesive
Mereco has unveiled a new, ultra-fast curing silver adhesive which is electrically
conductive for cold soldering and bonding
electrical and electronic components
where soldering is impractical. Mereco
Metaduct 1245 is a fast curing rapid
bonding room temperature setting epoxy
electrically conductive adhesive. After only
45 seconds Mereco said MetaductTM
1245 provides tensile shear strengths in
excess of 600 psi. This unique non-flam-mable one hundred percent solid adhesive
has a 2:1 mix ratio by weight or by volume and sets to a highly electrically conductive bond. Mereco Metaduct 1245
repairs printed circuits, fastens down and
seals electronic components, can replace
soft soldering and welding of jewelry
which can be electrically plated. It is used
for bonding electrical and electronic devices where soldering is not practical and
electrical conductivity is a requirement.
Benjamim Moore Adds Molten Metallics To Its
Studio Finishes Collection
Benjamin Moore has introduced Molten Metallics, a new addition to its Studio Finishes portfolio. The name of this new
paint product evokes the end result: a surface imitative of a
hand-hammered metal.
While most of the special effects coatings in the Studio Finishes collection are glazes, Molten Metallics is an alkyd high
gloss paint. It is ideal for adding a dramatic, glamorous look to
furniture, decorative pieces, trim and accent ceilings and walls.
It also is recommended for exterior surfaces and delivers an effective rust-resistant treatment.
“The illusion of the texture that Molten Metallics creates is
captivating and sensual,” said Sonu Mathew, Benjamin
Moore’s senior interior designer. “It’s an easy way to produce
a rarified look that only artisans typically have mastered. And,
it’s a lot more economical, too.”
Six standard ready-mixed colors are offered: Gold, Copper,
Bronze, Gun Smoke, Silver and Charcoal.
