generation of ETFE powder
coatings
DuPont Chemicals & Fluoroproducts has
introduced DuPont Teflon ETFE High
Build Top Coat Powder, a next-generation
product designed to achieve better chemi-
cal resistance, higher thermal stability, and
is easier to apply. This offering was created
for targeted applications in the chemical
processing industry for parts and equip-
ment such as vessels, columns, agitators and
valves. DuPont Teflon ETFE High Build
Top Coat Powder is a smart solution for
coaters who require a high-build thickness
for a part and are in need of a coating that
can easily be applied up to 80 mils (2032
microns). Additionally, the new product is
more chemically resistant than ECTFE, ac-
cording to the company, in virtually all
classes of compounds at higher tempera-
tures, which offers the end user a higher
margin of safety in the event that there are
spikes in temperature. DuPont also offers a
choice of both liquid and powder primers
which allow applicators an option based on
their preference and need and that improves
the topcoat’s adhesion to metal surfaces. In
addition to improved performance, the
product is fully backed by the customer
service and support available through In-
tech Services, which will distribute DuPont
Teflon ETFE High Build Top Coat Powder.

API Corporation has launched what it says
is the world’s first anti-fingerprint oleopho-
bic DIY coating kit—Fussode COAT—for
smartphones and tablet PCs and started
selling the kit on Amazon. This technology
was originally developed for smartphone
and tablet PC manufacturers, and many
major brands apply this as their default
anti-fingerprint coating. API manufactures
a user-friendly DIY coating kit based on its
own anti-fingerprint coating technology for
the touch screen surface.
