PPG Comex Opens 4,000th
Paint and Coatings Retail

PPG Industries has announced that PPG
Comex has opened its 4,000th paint and
coatings store in Mexico. The store is located in Mexico City.
“Through our more than 700 conces-
sionaires, we’ve built a market-leading
presence and unequaled customer intima-
cy for the COMEX brand in the Mexican
market,” said Marcos Achar, PPG Comex
CEO and PPG vice president, architec-
tural coatings, Latin America. “As one of
the largest retailers in Mexico, we plan to
continue strengthening our distribution
model to help more Mexican families to
protect and beautify their homes.”
PPG Comex manufactures paint, coat-
ings and related products in Mexico and
sells them in Mexico and Central America
through stores that are independently
owned and operated by concessionaires,
as well as through regional retailers and
wholesalers and directly to customers.
PPG completed its acquisition of Comex
in 2014.
TCI Powder Coatings
Expands to Americus, GA
TCI Powder Coatings has announced the
opening of a new office in Americus, GA.
According to Doug Greene, president of
TCI Powder Coatings, the new office will
function as corporate headquarters for
the business and house the administrative, customer service, finance, and information systems departments.
“This addition allows us to accommo-
date the steady growth of our business,”
stated Greene. “In the near future, we
will be able to add laboratory and train-
ing facilities as well as sample product
preparation and light warehousing in the
new facility. This is part of a multi-year
expansion strategy to improve our capa-
bilities and provide innovative, premium
solutions and service to our customers.

this new facility possible for TCI.

to be able to continue to grow here.”
The company anticipates opening the
office in February 2016 with approxi-
mately 20 employees. Additional func-
tions will be added as growth allows. The
facility is expected to accommodate up to
75 full time employees.
PPG Marks Completion
of $20 Million Electrocoat
Center at Zhangjiagang,
China, Facility
PPG Industries held a ceremony marking
the completion of a $20 million center
for on-site electrocoat coatings blending at its resin manufacturing facility in
Zhangjiagang, China.
The new 37,500-square-foot (nearly
3,500 square meters) center adds production and blending capacity for high-performance cathodic electrocoat (e-coat)
