PPG has announced Radhika Batra will join the company as vice president, purchasing and logistics. Steve
Lampe, current PPG vice
president, purchasing and
logistics, has announced
he will retire May 1.
Batra was previously
vice president, global
supply management,
at BorgWarner Turbo
Systems in Auburn Hills,
Michigan. She also held
executive-level positions
in procurement at Owens-Illinois Inc. in Perrysburg,
Ohio; Solutia Inc. in St. Louis; and
Rohm and Haas Co. in Philadelphia. She
is a “green belt” in Lean Six Sigma and
earned Certified Professional in Supply
Management (CPSM) and Certified
Purchasing Manager (CPM) certifications from the Institute for Supply
Management in Arizona.
Sanjay Monie Joins Orion
Engineered Carbons as
Technical Market Manager
Sanjay Monie, Ph.D., has joined Orion
Engineered Carbons as
technical market manager – Inks, Coatings,
and Special Applications
in the Specialty Carbon
Black segment. Based at
Orion’s Americas’ headquarters in Kingwood,
Texas, he is responsible for industry-focused applications development,
technology transfer, and technical sales
and marketing for Specialty Carbon
Blacks used in printing, coatings and
specialty applications.
Monie has almost 20 years of com-
mercial and technical experience in the
inks and coatings industry, especially
in digital and functional printing. Prior
to joining Orion, he held market and
product development positions at U.S.
Silica Company, Vorbeck Materials and
W.R. Grace & Co., all in Maryland.
Monie developed some of the early
coated products for inkjet printing, and
he led the launch one of the first commercial applications of graphene in conductive inks. He has a European patent
on glossy paper for inkjet printing and
two pending patents on graphene applications in conductive inks and anticorrosive coatings.

U.S. Reach with New
Account Manager Role
Maroon Group continues to expand
its U.S. reach with the addition of Brad
Thomas as its newest account manager
to cover geographies in eastern Michigan
and northwest Ohio.
Thomas joins Maroon from Univar,
where he was an account manager focusing on the coatings, adhesives, sealants,
and elastomers (CASE) industry in southeastern Michigan. This newly created account manager role supports Maroon’s
organic growth strategy by increasing our
field sales concentration in the Midwest.
Gretchen Boone Joins Fitz
Chem’s Sales Team
Fitz Chem Corporation continues to expand its sales team with the addition of
Gretchen Boone. Boone has 16 years’
experience in B2B sales, 13 of them in
the chemical distribution market serving CASE customers. Boone’s territory
will be covering Kentucky, Tennessee,
Southern Indiana, and Southern Ohio.
Tnemec Company Inc.
Names Chase Bean
President, Chief Operating
Officer
Tnemec Company Inc., a leading manu-
facturer of high-performance protec-
tive coatings, has named Chase Bean
president and chief operating officer, said
former president Pete Cortelyou. In this
new role, Bean assumes responsibility
over all of Tnemec’s operations.
Bean served Tnemec as executive
vice president for the last eight years,
where he managed the sales, marketing,
research and development, and technical services departments. Before this
position, he held several other roles at
Tnemec, including vice president of
sales and director of national accounts,
and before that, spent time in the field
as a principal sales pepresentative in
Minnesota. Bean brings with him over
twenty years of experience in the paint
and coatings industry.
Bean’s career experience at Tnemec
has included the oversight of product
development and commercialization,
national account management, and employee development and mentoring.
Bean’s experience building business relationships has also allowed him the opportunity to become an integral part of
the coating manufacturer’s growth in the
international market.
Cortelyou, who served as Tnemec
president for 21 years, will continue in
his role as CEO until the end of 2016 and
will remain the chairman of the board.
