Michael Hansen will be part of Hempel’s
Executive Management
Board, reporting directly
to Group president and
chief executive officer
(CEO) Henrik Andersen.
He joins Hempel from
Maersk, where he most
recently held the position of vice president
& global head of sales in Maersk Line.
Based in Hempel’s headquarters in
Denmark, Hansen will cooperate with his
colleagues across the world and across
Hempel’s different coating segments:
Protective, Marine (including Container
and Yacht) and Decorative. He will play a
central role in – and take charge of – executing on the commercial part of Hempel’s
2020 strategy Journey to Excellence,
which has a clear focus on the customer.

After 19 years in Maersk, Michael will
contribute with great knowledge about
the marine industry and global sales
processes. This is important to Hempel’s
Journey to Excellence strategy, which in-
volves working even closer with custom-
ers to deliver trusted coating solutions
that add real value to their business.

Appointment of
Mark Daniels to VP,
Transportation A/C
Sika Corporation, Target Market Industry
has appointed Mark Daniels to the posi-
tion vice president Transportation A/C.
Daniels started his career with Sika
in 2000 as a senior technical service
Engineer in Sika’s Madison Heights,
Michigan, office. Over his tenure, he
has progressed through leadership positions in the technical service, product
management and marketing departments in Sika China. Most recently, he
was the Target Market mManager for
Sika Industry of Australia.
Oxiteno Appoints COO in
U.S.
As part of the investment plan announced
in November 2015 to expand its activities
and increase its capacity to serve clients in
the region, Oxiteno appointed Timothy
Earl Madden as COO of Oxiteno USA.
Madden has a solid track record of
building global businesses, most recently with the Lubrizol Corporation,
which is part of the Berkshire
Hathaway Group. His previous experience includes overseas leadership
positions with Noveon, BFGoodrich
and Dow. Madden worked in Europe,
China and India, as well as in the U.S.
In each location, he implemented plant
sites and labs, in addition to forming
and leading business teams.

Lucarelli as Director
The ChemQuest Group, Inc. has appointed Dr. Michael A. Lucarelli as director.
With over 30 years of experience
in organometallic, organic, inorgan-
ic, polymer and specialty chemicals,
Lucarelli is a recognized subject matter
expert and inventor in chemistry appli-
cations ranging from silicones, silanes,
fumed silica, urethanes and epoxies
to acrylics, particle technology and
catalysis. Lucarelli possesses in-depth
knowledge in coatings, adhesives, seal-
ants and composites, which includes
the chemistry of resins, additives and
plastics and is accomplished at devel-
oping new chemistries.
Most recently, Michael Lucarelli
served for seven years as vice president of Product
Development and
Commercialization for
Novinda Corporation,
a startup producer of
a mineral-based sorbent primarily used
for removing mercury
and pollutants from
flue gases. From 2002
to 2008, Lucarelli
was Wacker Chemical’s Director of
Technology where he had primary responsibility in the fumed silica and
silane businesses. He has had diverse
roles in marketing & sales support,
technology & innovation, and manufacturing & distribution for new and
existing end-products such as coatings,
adhesives, sealants, and composites.
Prior to that, Lucarelli made significant contributions in various senior
R&D, application and technical service
roles at Valspar, Cabot Corporation,
GE Silicones and formerly the Mobay
Corporation (now Covestro). As co-inventor, Lucarelli has an array of 63
patents and applications, while additionally authoring and co-authoring
several technical papers.
