Damien Caby has joined BASF as the new head of the Global Business Unit Oilfield and
Mining Solutions. Prior to BASF, he
held several executive positions at
Imerys in North America and Europe, in
Performance Minerals, Oil & Gas and
Paper. In his latest role, he was heading
the Filtration and Performance Additives
North America Division.
Avomeen Analytical
Services’ New CEO to Lead
Michigan-based Testing &
Development Lab
Avomeen Analytical Services, a full-service independent analytical testing
and product development laboratory
based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has announced that Mark Harvill has been
named its CEO. High Street Capital of
Chicago and Avomeen founder and retiring CEO Shri Thanedar, Ph.D., made
the announcement.
Harvill will lead Avomeen’s day-to-day activities with an emphasis on
continuing the company’s rapid growth
achieved since its inception in 2010.
High Street Capital is the majority
shareholder of Avomeen following the
company’s recapitalization at year-end
2016. Dr. Thanedar will continue to
hold a minority interest and serve on the
company’s Board of Directors. He will
work closely with Harvill to ensure a
smooth transition.
Riley Joins OMNOVA
Solutions Chemical Business
OMNOVA Solutions has appointed
Jason Riley as distributor sales manager -
Americas for its chemical business. In this
newly created position, Riley will have responsibility for the support and growth
of OMNOVA’s indirect sales channel for
key markets including coatings, tape and
adhesives, elastomeric modification, paper and packaging, construction, textiles,
and graphic arts.
In addition to providing a strategic
focus on distributor partnerships for
OMNOVA’s chemicals businesses, Riley
will work internally to further align
OMNOVA’s organizational support
functions, ensuring the quality and consistency of service provided to distributor partners.
RCMA Appoints New
Executive Director
The Roof Coatings Manufacturers
Association (RCMA) has selected Matt
Coffindaffer as its new executive director.
He replaces Jim Kirby, who leaves RCMA
to pursue his professional interests in architecture and building science.
Coffindaffer is a Certified Association
Executive and has several years of experience working in Washington, DC
in association management. He has
served as executive director of the
OpenTravel Alliance and led strategic initiatives for a number of associations including the American Society of
Association Executives (ASAE), the
National Pest Management Association,
and the National Council of Agricultural
Employers. He is a 2016 recipient of the
Association Forum USAE 40 under 40
and an ASAE NextGen alumni.
TCI Powder Coatings
Announces New Hires
TCI Powder Coatings, a subsidiary of
RPM International Inc. has named Jon
Mohn as a new field technical service representative. With 28 years in the powder
coating industry, Mohn’s previous places
of employment include Gema, GE, and
Winona PVD. During his 22 years at
Gema, he took on several positions. He
started out doing installations and later
moved on to become regional service engineer. In this role, he was responsible for
training new and old customers, helping
customers with issues, and helping sales
with new equipment. At GE, he worked
as a process improvement engineer.
TCI Powder Coatings has also named
Jeff Gorden account manager for the
Illinois territory. Gordon has an excellent
track record in account management and
business development in the industrial
coatings segment. Prior to joining TCI, he
was a key account executive with PPG.

Materials Names Phil
McDivitt CEO
Ascend Performance Materials has announced that company president and
chief operating officer Phil McDivitt has
assumed the title of president, chief executive officer and member of the board of
directors. Ascend’s former CEO Frederic
M. (Fred) Poses will retire and step down
from the Board of Directors.
Elizabeth Lempres Joins
Axalta Board of Directors
Axalta Coating Systems has announced
that Elizabeth Cahill Lempres has joined
the company’s Board of Directors. She
will serve on the Environment, Health,
Safety & Sustainability Committee.
Lempres is a senior partner at McKinsey
& Company, a leading management
consulting firm, where she also serves
as a member of the firm’s Board of
Directors, leads its Global Private Equity
and Principal Investing Practice, and
serves on the Board of Directors of the
McKinsey Investment Office. Lempres
has announced her retirement from
McKinsey effective August 2017. CW
